The OrangeRX 2.4Ghz switchable transmitter module offers a simple, convenient and inexpensive way to utilize your module-based JR/Turnigy/Taranis/Walkera Devo compatible transmitter to enable its compatibility with any DSMX/DSM2, and Walkera Devo protocol receivers.

Unlike standard modules which have a fixed protocol, this unit has 5 switchable modes and 4 switchable power outputs. The 5 modes are: DSM2 1024/22ms, DSM2 2048/11ms, DSMX 22ms, DSMX 11ms, and Walkera Devo, the 4 selectable power outputs are 1, 5, 25, and 70mW. Other features of the module are an easy to access bind button, range check mode of 1mW, selectable channel mapping (AETR/TAER), and low power consumption of 100mA.

This full-range module fits any transmitters that utilize the 5 pin standard JR style fitting such as JR/Turnigy/Taranis and Walkera Devo that has a PPM output. An easy to see LED indicates the current working mode the module is set to, and a buzzer sounds 3 beeps when powering up to confirm a signal output and successful binding.

• 5 switchable protocol modes: DSM2 1024/22ms, DSM2 2048/11ms, DSMX 22ms, DSMX 11ms, and Walkera Devo
• 4 selectable power outputs of 1, 5, 25, and 70mW
• Provides telemetry in Multimodule format back to the transmitter (1000, 8E2, inverted UART)
• Selectable channel mapping: AETR/TAER
• Accepts PPM from 4 - 12 channels
• Easy to see status LED
• Low current consumption

Compatibility: JR style 5 pin module-based transmitters (JR/Turnigy/Taranis/Walkera Devo)
2.4Ghz protocol (Switchable): DSM2 1024/22ms, DSM2 2048/11ms, DSMX 22ms, DSMX 11ms, Walkera Devo
Output Power (Switchable): 1/5/25/70mW
Channel Mapping: AETR/TAER
Input Voltage: 6~18VDC
Current Consumption: 100mA max
Radio Type: Full range system
Firmware version: 2.0

module works but compatibility issues

Oct 28, 2021

First of all, the module works great on its merits for being able to handle the dsm protocols which is the reason I purchased it for my grandsons Taranis OpenTX transmitter. It is unknown from my research if the issues we are experiencing are with the OrangeRX module or an issue with the Taranis TX. The issue is that once a plane, drone, etc. is bound to the Taranis via the OrangeRX module, the settings are only good for as long as the transmitter is turned on for that session. Turning the transmitter off results in ALL settings being cleared for that binding to that plane or other craft. This does not happen with other craft bound directly to the Taranis TX. So I recommend caution on buying this module for DSM use if you are using with a Taranis TX. Any help in resolving this is appreciated. As I said at the beginning, the module seems to be quite good on its own, but with this issue looming large, I marked it down a little on Overall and Value as this a fairly serious issue relating to the Taranis TX.

Telemetry cannot be configured

Sep 30, 2021

Bought it to use telemetry to keep an eye on the pack voltage of multicopters. The manual is vague about this and no information is available on the net. I am using a Taranis X9D plus 2019. I had a lot of Orange rx receivers hence went in for this module. Should have invested in FrSky receivers instead.
