The OrangeRx Tx6i has taken over from where the original OrangeRx T6 left off. Very noticeable from the start is the new ergonomic styling with hand grips and an internal protected antenna, no longer will you be having to purchase a new antenna because you have damaged it. The new shape and design makes it easier to hold and use the switches and the adjustable length stick allows you to tailor the feel of the set to your own requirements. The programming buttons on the left have been reduced to 2 from 4 which simplifies things but the roller /selector button has been retained as it is so simple and effective to use, this is now used for most of the programming. Other features of the Tx6i over the original T6 is that it has a larger easy to read backlit LCD display, model match (stops you trying to fly your model with the wrong model memory selected), telemetry, 20 model memory, switch assignment, multi-copter mode, servo sync, integrated timer, all this and it is still compatible with existing DSM2/DSMX receivers.

Retained from the earlier T6 are all your favourite features such as fixed wing mode with multiple wing types and mixers, helicopter mode with multiple swashplate types, pitch/throttle curves, gyro adjust etc as well as the new mult-copter mode. It still has range test function, dual/exponential rates, travel adjust, mixers and much much more, see list of features below.

• Internal antenna
• Compatible with DSM2/DSMX receivers
• 20 model memory

Good Value

DSM2and DDMX compatible. Basic, but intuitive and simple to use, and the setting up is adjustable enough for most of my purposes. Powered by AA batteries X 4, so no prior charging needed before use, just as I wanted. Thanks.

Great value

Easy to use and program. I use two of these to teach my son how to fly. Too bad buddy cable is not available. The scroll knop isn't the best quality. The material used for this transmitter feels nice and not zit all cheap. I'm happy with this item

Initially I thought this was going to be really complicated to set up but once I got into it it's not bad at all

Goof value

The menu structure took a bit of getting used to but it does everything it is supposed to.
The back lit screen is nice.
If I have a technical complaint it is that the TX6i 'dual ail' function uses Aux1for the left hand aileron whereas the Spektrum Dx6i uses Aux2.
This only becomes an issue when using a Lemon 'stab' rx which uses Aux1 to switch the stab on and off. The result is the stab function is permanently off with the Tx6i.

TX6i - not what I wanted.

Jun 15, 2021

I ordered this unit as a replacement for 2 T-6's that I'd used successfully for years. I spent hours trying to transfer the info from my old unit to this replacement - without any success. I finally gave up, found another seller, and have ordered a new T-6 from them.
The TX6i will be listed on eBay tomorrow for about half price. Lesson learned. A newer model and design is not always better or more functional that what it replaces. Why do you no longer sell the T-6 TX?

Most prominent operating feature...

of the TX6i Tx is ability to bind and maintain multiple orange or spectrum type Rx binding with all Rx. Rare quality to be observed.

An excellent radio for the price

Aug 12, 2020

I bought this because I needed a cheap DSMX radio for a couple of bind 'n' fly drones I acquired. In short - I'm so glad I did!
Pros:
It's actually got quite a nice feel to it, despite being made of cheap plastic. The actual weight isn't an issue, as you don't want anything too heavy, but the bulk and rubberised grips really do feel quite nice and bely the low outlay.
The switches appear to be the standard 3rd party affairs, but this is no bad thing; they have a satisfying 'click' and seem about as sturdy as any other radio I've got. There's even a momentary switch, which is always a nice-to-have on a radio.
Another point on the switches - There are 8 switches for 2 available channels! Obviously this is so the manufacturers can add higher-channel boards into the same cases, but it does mean that you are spoilt for choice as to which switch does what. So, I'm taking this as a 'pro' instead of a 'con.'
The gimbals are also quite nice. Not the best, admittedly, but better than you might think for such a low-cost item. Apparently they can be adjusted, but I've not found the need.
Performance-wise I've had no issues. Lockdown has prevented any real range tests, but I've managed to push my mini-quads out until I can hardly see them without losing contact.
The orange translucent plastic is quite eye-catching if you like that sort of thing!
Cons:
The menus and input wheel/roller seem a little cheap and clunky. It's only a little criticism, but it seems to make the device look and feel more like its price, when everything else seems to make it look and feel so much better.
Other Stuff:
I'll not bother with digging too deep into the menu setup or model memory and types, as they are all slightly more than you'd expect from a budget radio, but nowhere near as comprehensive as you'd get from a mid/high-range radio. Suffice to say, you will be able to use this radio with pretty much any model requiring 6 channels!
Overall:
An excellent radio for the price and a perfect spare/backup/2nd unit.
At this price you can't really go wrong!

Super TX - amazing value!

Feb 06, 2020

Have 4ch, 6ch, and 8ch Tactic (SLT protocol) transmitters, and was looking for a quality DSM2/DSMX transmitter. This one is perfect and works flawlessly. Quality and performance appears to be right up there, and have used it for some of my indoor micro flying during our long cold winter. Very pleased that I selected this unit.

Looks nice, but I don't use it.

Jan 24, 2020

Looks and feels good but not direct replacement for my old TX6 which I prefer.
New box is not easy to set-up and the downloaded manual says what it can do but not how to program it to achieve the results I want, like flaperons and other mixes, which are easy with the old TX6.

Great value!

Jan 17, 2020

I've always flown with the SLT protocol, and have 4, 6, and 8 channel transmitters to fly with. Hard to find SLT "bricks" and receivers these days, so needed an alternate for my new builds. This radio fits the bill perfectly. Very impressed with the learning curve - found it quite similar to my usual radios. These are great quality at a fair price.
