This Mustang is a cheap, nice sized Plug and Fly model that is made from tough EPO foam and despite it being a little larger than your average Parkflyer, it only requires common sized 3s lipoly packs due to it's lightweight construction.

Being Plug and Fly, all servo's are pre-installed, there is plenty of power from the supplied brushless motor to spin a 12x6 standard type three blade prop (included) on only 3s, meaning no large, expensive packs, all those 2200mAh 3s Lipoly's you have in your flightbox will do just fine. This P-51 features fixed, heavy duty landing gear, cheap servoless retracts could be fitted quite easily with a little work. Flaps and servo pockets for flaps are pre-moulded giving you the option to add flaps easily and cheaply (2 x 9g servo's) if you so wish.

As well as being cheap, this Mustang is also practical, the wings are 2 pc plug in type, the supplied under-carriage is very sturdy, it uses a standard type prop and spinner (no special replacement items needed should they get damaged), there is an easy access and large battery tray and so on. If you are looking for a warbird that is a little larger than a Parkfly model without spending big bucks, this is it!

This is one great foamy warbird. It goes together very easy, and it flies brilliantly. Couple of down sides, no provision for retracts, flies better with a 4S battery but supplied ESC would be very marginal for it, quality of servos is questionable, supplied pilot figure sucks big time. But these are far out weighed by the good points. Good paint, excellent flying characteristics, wings (including horiz stab) are well braced and super strong, huge access panel to the batt tray. So far I have replaced the ESC for a 45amp, I'm using a 4S 2800 30c and I'll soon be fitting retracts, all of these purchased from HK. I would have given it 5 crowns overall but the lack of retract provision cannot be over looked. I'm so impressed with it, I have now also bought the 1400mm Mustang which looks like its from the same manufacturer. If you love electric foam warbirds, buy this one.

Received plane in good order, opened box and freaked out at the look of the plane.very very cool. It was well pack with no damage other than a broken control horn pushrod connector,no big deal. Assembly was fast and easy, I did replace the rudder servo cuz it was a little loud for me. Flew it that day , I was a bit nervous ,this is a big plane but it flew very well, very scale like. The guys at the field said they saw it on line but were not sure about it because of the price, well they all want one. It lands smooth, I greased most of the landings, had a couple nose overs cuz of grass field. Definitely worth 140.00 bucks too my door. A very very cool looking and flying model

Pretty good plane for the price, paint is a little dodgy though and the tail servo was stripped. Strong fixed landing gear with oleo struts to tackle those bumpier landings. All in all I rait this plane 4 stars, not bad for the price but could be better. Thanks Hobby King.

Just put mine together today. I was really impressed. Foam seems to be high quality, and everything fit well. The wing goes together really well without glue. Carbon Fibre spar and 4 large wing screws that immediately lined up...no issue. This plane has the heaviest fixed landing gear I've seen yet, and they are spring loaded. I fly off a grass field when there's not snow on it (right now there is). This landing gear is substantial, I think it could handle it. I "might change the wheels to something a bit bigger and thinner. As a few others in this set of reviews has done, I switched out the 35amp esc with a 60 I had lying around from an edf. I am psyched about flying this great looking plane on 4s when the snow eventually melts :-).

So...haven't flown it yet...only the build. Would I buy again...absolutely...would I recommend to a friend...already have.

Good points: It's big and light for it's size, it is overall a solid well built plane and it's cheap.

Bad points: very cheap servos, the elevator servo stopped functioning on the maiden flight (luckily she went down into some tall shrubbery and only suffered a broken prop) and the decals are nearly transparent.

While the elevator was working, I was very happy and it flew like a bat outa hell on a 4s battery (I replaced the stock esc with a 40amp I had lying around)

Test flew in ideal conditions, with 2200mah 3S it ROG easily, required lot of down trim. Not a powerhouse but gets around confidently, landing approach was straight forward however contact with the strip immediately bent the soft soft upper u/c legs. U/c easily fixed with a bit of proper piano wire, went to 4S and replaced 12 x 6 3 blade with 11 x 6 3 blade and took to air again, more authority now and landing no problem. Will up the battery to 4000mah 4S next to give better duration and also cut hole for more cooling to the ESC. This plane represents excellent value!

I fly this plane with a Donkey 820KV 680W swinging a 13X8 or 13X6 prop. With this motor she flies great. I have a HK 60amp esc pulling 52A at 550W. Vertical is crazy and I get about 5 to 10 minutes depending on throttle control with a 3s 2650 25c and 2700 25c. Will try a 4500 and 5000 next.
