Accessories

One of the best renditions of the famous PBY Catalina and like the real thing this model will fly off water!

Months of flight testing and design yield an aircraft that is super stable and capable of maintaining flight at super slow speeds that allow novice to master flight mechanics with ease.

High quality scale detail and a nice large 1.4m winspan make this an attention grabbing model. And pleny of power is provided by the twin 1100KV motors.

Made from a high strength EPO-foam for added durability. Powered by a high powered 850KV electric brushless motor and a 11.1v li-poly battery pack that provide up to 10 minutes flight between for each charge.

Makes a great gift since almost everything needed to fly comes in one box.

This is the catalina from dynam. Finish is far better than the guanli kits; paintjob is ok (mat grey) and there is a plastic reinforcement under the hull. Good for take of ad landing from grass and snow. Epo looks good and flexible. wings can be break down in 3 pieces for transport (the midlle part stays; don't need to touch the linkage). the is a spare set of props in the kit. The weight is light for such a wing surface, so the speed can be really slow.
I didn't maidened yet but the electronics works. update after maiden but the videos from you tube expect something pleasent. Good fo the price.

Hello Play mates, I've had my Catalina a couple of months now, good plane BUT in it's original format it will tip-stall, here is how to stop that :- change the motors to 2836-8 1100kv they will give 250 watts of power when using GWS 8x4.5 3-blade props, you wind up with a very controllable aircraft, flyable at scale speed with no stall tendencies. the 2 piece elevator needs a joiner too! that's the icing on the cake then, very smooth, good luck with yours.

plane looks good and goes in well, got left with a lot of extra screws, should I be worried???)))..if just notice that all my 4 props I got are exactly the same, should they not be counterotating?maiden flight soon. seem to be balance right with a 2200 3s in the far front.

Beautiful model... the best I have ever purchased from H K. sent my mate a picture of mine and he told me when he was a kid he and his Dad flew from Sydney to Norfolk Island in a real one, every one loves a Cat, have counter rotating master air screws on mine, five mins work and gave her a coat of water based polyurathane clear which adds no weight to speak of but with the satin finish it really blends in the decals and makes the EPO super tough!

Very easy aeroplane to fly, with no bad habits straight out of the box. Doe's like a bit of rudder to coordinate the turns but thats what a pilot is for. Takes off and lands easily of grass and is a joy to do low, slow and long flybys. CofG correct with a 2200ma 3 cell battery. Have not flown off water yet, im the only person in our group praying for rain.

Maidened mine this morning in nice still conditions on a soggy wet strip - needs plenty of right rudder otherwise your doing donuts on the grass (motors synched prior to flying to make sure they both run at same speed) but lesson learned and she tracked straight and true and took off within 5 meters once she was rolling. A few clicks of up elevator and she was tracking straight and true. She is surprisingly fast above half throttle but come on, this is a Catalina, the joy of flying her is patrolling the oval at one third throttle. COG easily attained at 65mm from leading edge with a 2200mAh (battery bay is big and easily modded if you want), this is my first Dynam bird and I will definately be looking at more - BUY IT!!

Got the Cat about a week after I ordered it from the Australian warehouse.
This is one very nice model. Took about an hour to assemble the Cat, everything fitted very well and no problems were encountered.
Test flew the Cat on a 2600MAh 3 Cell LiPo with the battery located as far forward as possible. Result was slightly forward CofG which is what you want for a test flight. The Cat flew off the grass with no lack of power on the takeoff run. Slight pitch up trim was added to compensate for forward CofG after that low level fly bys and touch and gos off the grass. Will locate the battery further back for the next flight until I find the perfect spot for it. Will try the Cat from the water in a few weeks.
This is one fantastic model, highly recommended. Scale detail is excellent, flight characteristics are even better. Only disappointment is the crappy looking civilian pilot but he can be changed.
