I got this boat used from a friend and it is awesome! It has killer handling in the water and has great speed! It is my first boat and I love it! I put a Turnigy 35a brushless ESC in it and it is fast! But where can I get a flex shaft for it? Thank you Hobby King!

Quality hull destroyed by a sub par hobbyking assembly....again as usual

This is the 3rd small Hobbyking boat I've purchased, the hulls are pretty nice, whoever is assembling them needs to be fired on the spot, I've seen better build quality from my 4 year old niece.

Every single boat I've purchased from hobbyking has had the shaft as well as the rudder misaligned, this one even had the motor mount so crooked it was almost comical; if i didn't pay $100 for it! the holes were haphazardly drilled in the wrong spots and the boats were slapped together with such a lack of attention or quality it's almost criminal to charge $100 for this POS.

The shaft in this one was so far misaligned from the keel of the boat that it's simply not derivable, it spends more time under the water than on it. Took me 3 times but i learned my lesson, hobbyking cant build boats.

Bottom line, if you just buying the hull to build yourself go for it, but under no circumstances should anyone reward hobbyking for such lack luster build quality by purchasing ANY of their watercraft, trust me, you will regret it the second you inspect the boat.

I just got my Piranha 400 today and I put my 3s 1300mah 15c battery and 4ch spektrum clone receiver I bought from HK. I am VERY VERY happy that I bought this boat. I had many options at this price range. The main reason I bought this boat was to use it as a rescue boat for my Traxxas Spartan. But I get to play with this boat lot more because of it's size. I can play with it in my swimming pool.

This boat get on plane very well with 1300mah and 1500mah. I tested both batteries. with 3s 1500mah 20c this thing gets on plane at 1/4 throttle. And I can pretty much run this boat at close to 13-15mph at half throttle and the battery lasts about 10-12 minutes.

I had minor leaks but used some hot glue and it was sealed tight.

Overall this is the best boat money can buy right now. IMO. When you click add to cart...the price actually drops to $117.

Thank you Hobbyking for this great Toy.

Further to my last review above, It seems that the boat is happier with a 3S 1300-1500 pack, the lighter pack weight means that it has better side to side balance and the boat is quicker out of the hole to accellerate. If you can accept the lower runtimes, 1300mah is a better choice than 2200. I'm getting a little water through the flex-shaft even after greasing so I will cut a little kitchen sponge and place it near the shaft to absorb this.
