HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm PLA 1KG Spool (White)
HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.
The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. So there is a filament for every project you have in mind. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.
PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when flexing, impacted or subject to torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project have to be evaluated.
PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead, and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.
3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Good finish, smooth. Needs a heated bed @ 60 C to stick to my (glass & hairspray) bed, suffers from 'curly toes' syndrome. Brilliant for the price, though. My favourite white PLA. The colour is clean and bright white, it prints consistently, it takes Sharpie ink well, and it's the right price. Currently printing 90 mm/s at 230 °C.
Sticks perfectly fine to 3M #2090 blue tape even without alcohol — if you're having trouble and you're positive that your first layer height and bed levelling are good, then just keep increasing your first layer temp until it works. Be sure to print a temperature calibration tower so that you know how hot you can push any filament before it begins to look funny.I will disagree with the previous reviewer. I have went through an entire spool with no adhesion issues with both blue tape and glass. It has printed consistently, and size from spot checking has been 1.75 to 1.78. Taking a star off because the spooling is terrible with it running all over (not on the spool even, etc) but it hasn't jammed or tangled so it is cosmetic more than anything.Barely sticks to blue painters tape, but I should have expected as much because of the price. It is possible to make it stick to the print bed, but it is very time consuming and not worth saving a couple dollars.
