Product Description

HobbyKing Premium 3D printing filaments set the new gold standard in 3D filaments. Print with strong, flexible filament to create spare parts, artworks and 3D models. Silk PLA filament is a composite PLA with the main component being PLA and with other components such as polyester. It provides a great looking filament that is shiny or silky and has a semi-translucent look.

HobbyKing Premium PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high-resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. Silk PLA is excellent for large prints as it has low shrinkage and has a better toughness and surface gloss than normal PLA.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short, great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl-free print.

Super good looking PLA

Super good looking decorative PLA. Prints good but bond between layers is only one third of a normal PLA. Really layerbond is bad and I did print it on 230 already instead of 210.

I'm printing a MiG-15 from 3DprintLab and I bought this silver filament since is is supposed to be premium, but I haven't been able to print anything usable. It prints very bad with lots of bubbles and it crumbles like dust when pressed.

It seems that the material has expired since it can't print anything correctly.
The normal PLA is much better than this.

I used a spool with good results, but then I ordered more that were on sale and they resulted very bad. The prints are impossibly bad, like printing with dust. Maybe is the humidity but I wasn't able to print anything usable.

Very hard to work with

prints do look great, definitely a silky look, and the filament is pretty sturdy too. But its really hard to get the tune right for it. the suggested temperatures don't seem to work so great.
