HobbyKing Premium 3D printing filaments set the new gold standard in 3D filaments. Print with strong, flexible filament to create spare parts, artworks and 3D models. PLA X³ is engineered for fast printing (>120mm/s) and prints like PLA but performs like ABS. It provides a great looking semi-matte finish.

HobbyKing Premium PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high-resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, impact or torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project need to be evaluated.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl-free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Best option for black PLA

Jul 01, 2020

Black PLA does not work with my 0.25 nozzle setup with all metal throat. This filament does it's job best from the options. Needs PETG temperatures (240-250) and clogs the nozzle after a couple of prints. Other cheap black PLA clog before the end of the first print. Keep in mind I print almost 50h in a week and print flawlessly almost all other coloured cheap PLA, PETG and TPU/TPE. Price is too high nowadays after all the earsaver printers hoarding plastic.

DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF IT IS REALLY REALLY BAD

Oct 21, 2019

Bought many various rolls of filament all of which are perfect.
This stuff will destroy your machine .
Do not buy this.
The temperature range for this pla is very high and it still needs to be as high as ABS settings.
It is also glues itself to the printing surface way too much (glass and hairspray used)
It just is a melty mess and would advise anyone DO NOT BUY

Good Stuff!!

Jun 12, 2019

This Filament is very nice, prints well and is some where between normal pla and abs as far as strength goes. I have found it as easy as normal PLA to print but slightly stingier.

Probably the worst filament I've ever bought

Apr 30, 2019

Printing for almost a year with my Prusa MK3 never had adhesion issues.
No matter what settings I changed I cannot get this terrible filament to stick. Would avoid at all cost

Print it hot, a very interesting filament!

Apr 19, 2019

Has a semiflat black, solid color, tough and doesn't break easily, needs a high print temperature, 235C may still result in weak layer bonding. Prints can be cut with a dull exacto knife not as easily as the white and as usual the price dropped after I bought two kilogram rolls white and black. Prints well with Bowden and does not tend to sag, blob or over extrude at corners with some cooling and layer change giving accurate results. Good bed adhesion and low stringing effect. It's not a liquid type PLA when heated more like dry, it gets soft but doesn't run like regular PLA. I like it, it prints something with an overhang another regular PLA just could not print.
