Print-Rite DIY 3D Printer is an easy to assemble and disassemble 3D printer that is a perfect solution for those who don't have a dedicated space to sit their printer when not using it. There are only 6 modules to screw together and you're ready to print anywhere, anytime. Just because it is easy to put together doesn't mean it isn't packed full of features to make this a quality printer, so you get a big 200x200mm bed with 170mm vertical limit, belt drives on the X & Y axes, dual stepper motors on the Z axis, rolled lead screws, a RAMPS style board, quad rail configuration, ball bearing supports and a print head cooling fan.

This printer features an advanced print head design with quick release and the ability to have 2 rolls of filament loaded on the supplied spool holder so it is easy to switch between colours when making multi-coloured models.

One of the other great things about this printer is that because it uses standard parts that are readily available it is easy to upgrade with different print nozzles and maybe even a heated bed.

Whole print head, heating element, temperature sensor, Feed motor, everything, Has completely shat itself and almost caught on fire.

It's a risk, but when it worked it worked great, but it's dead after less than a month,

This is an excellent product for the price. Some care needs to taken with the initial setup to get successful prints. A word of warning though, the software supplied with the unit will not install on Windows 10. However, downloading RepetierHost 1.5.6 from Repetier's web site"does install and after basic configuration works like a charm. A better UI as well

If you are looking for an economical path into the world of 3D printing you could worse than selecting this product. Now to work out how to add a heated bed.

If your into scale models, or a hobbyist and you haven`t one of these WHY????? Just brilliant quick to assemble 1/2 hour, a little time to calibrate, 1 hour, do these right your in business. Just amazing, being Reprap clone (merlin) lots of accessories available. Very solid unit, must make a acrylic enclosure for it, to keep the dust out and ensure constant temperature. Only con is Ausposts postage fees, unfortunately if you live out in the sticks beyond courier service you have no other option.

First, know I'm a 3D print newbie, but can draw up reasonable things without blended curves in Sketchup.(Add the Solid Inspector and the STL Exporter addons and you are good to go).

I've been looking for a printer for a while and this one was a good price and has OK specs.

I took a punt that HK will come through with the bits it says are coming.

The thing is well packed and took 30mins to assemble. You get a roll of PLA filament which is good to practise on. The HK filament seems to have nicer finish. (I bought a few spools before they went "Backorder")

Follow the instructions exactly and you will be printing in an hour. I didn't and tried to shortcut and ended up wasting time and thinking it doesn't work on my Win 8 laptop. It does. The software/drivers/instructions are on the USB stick in the box. Repetier is pretty easy and Slic3r isn't hard to learn either. There are later versions, but for a total beginner start with it then update later.

I've moved it to another room and it now runs on a Win 7 desktop. Set-up is pretty simple. Make sure you get the bed to nozzle distance correct. It is very important.

I did have a mishap the first morning and tripped on the USB cable and ripped the USB socket off the board, near disaster. However a trip to Jaycar and some soldering got me going again.

I have only noticed while writing this (its running next to me) that the X-axis belt teeth rub lightly on the lower support rods likely causing a bed vibration on big fas
