I got the motor to upgrade my foam 3d airplane. It went from having almost no vertical ability to unlimited vertical. This is an excellent motor.

The supplied bracket that is used to attach the motor to the firewall was the wrong size and did not fit. Make sure that you have one laying around. Fortunately, I had a bracket from an accessory kit that I bought to go with my 28-26A.

Out of the box my hopes were high - looking good and tough to turn with hand.
First challenge was with mounting - tough wires are hard to bend trough the mount. But this is due to he mount on the plane as well (Volantex ranger 1600).
Made two 10min runs with ranger stock 8x4 prop. Better experience with thrust but noting to brag about.
Ordered a very nice 8x6E and 8x6 triblade prop.
Setup a test with all three props and stock motor on a thrust meter (homemade).
Results were a bit disappointing. Only 100-150g (~10%) thrust gain with no efficiency gain. On the contrary, some setups were sucking a lot more amps to get this 100g thust improvement.
Second day I balanced the props and 3D printed a better adapter for the prop.
In the middle of testing motor goes from very quiet to very sick sound. I guess it's the bearings. After total 1,5 hour run time (2x 10min flights and 2x 30min thrust testing) !?
HobbyKing has no reply about it so I guess I'm stuck with it.
The thing is I really don't feel confident having this motor my plane worrying it my die after one more hour of use.
