Looking for something different? Recreate Jurassic Park with a radio controlled Pterodactyl Ornithopter complete with a screeching sound module.

The EPP foam body and head protect the wing flapping mechanism and electronics, while providing an authentic look. The Pterodactyl has been fine tuned for stable flight without the need for special electronic stabilization. This ready to fly, all-inclusive model has two lipoly batteries included, one for the transmitter, the other to power the model itself.

Super easy plane to fly. give it power and it does the rest. I had a quality issue with the wing snapping about 50m above the ground 4mins into the first flight but it sustained no further damage from the fall. Hobbyking did replace the wing although it took them many months to do so and the service staff are super rude. The controls are limited. even though it eventually goes the way your telling to, it is not what I would call precision flying. It has no glide potential and if you drop the power below half throttle it will fall like a stone. But I bought it on special for $100 AUD as a novelty so.. I'm happy with it. Note.. do not fly in any more than mild winds.. just don't lol. it will turn into a tumbleweed. It is super crash resistant too 5 stars for that.

Until they stock parts _> forget it - the gears give out in less than 10 flights and you can't find any to fix it.

Hi all, ordered mine and received all OK.
This being the PNF version means that the sound module will not work, as per the review of the 'international' warehouse version, there is a solution offered by purchasing an additional HK switch however after wiring it up exactly as suggested I found that it still did not work so still no sound. (confirmed all assigned to channel etc)
20amp ESC supplied with Pterodactyl fried on take off, I replaced it with a Turnigy Plush 30amp and all seems well now, I took the opportunity to tidy up the wiring by placing the ESC and the small FRSKY RX above the battery cage.
So all in all, its really good to see this unusual subject and I can't wait to get it flying, Oh! there a wire marked ALARM LINE, do not use it.

First of all: I bought a second one... because I really like how it looks, how it flys and: the price of it is very nice (normally a Ornithocopter is much more expensive)

The only thing that is really really dumb at this Pterodactyl: the manual... theres absolutely nothing how to plug it into a receiver, the high of the V-Tail (Rudder elevator) is not mentioned and whats worst:
There is an Connector called "Alarm line"... thougt: "THIS MUST BE THE VOICE OF THE FLYING DINOSAUR"... WRONG! This is directly connected to the batterie..
Connected it, started the Ornithocopter and was very supprised when it smoked...
So please only plugin Low Voltage Alarms here!!!!
