The QRF400 1:4th scale dirt bike is a big size R/C dirtbike with plenty of power and quality components. The cast alloy rear swingarm gives the bike almost 14mm of wheel travel, great for big air jumps, triples, whoops or rough ground! Trick style, large bore, upside-down front forks are designed to take big impact while keeping the bike stable. The bike takes a 3,000 to 4,000mAh Lithium Polymer pack and requires a 60A+ car esc. Careful attention has been paid to drivability, the rider''s weight has been lightened by 30% over other bikes of similar size, and the rear wheel has a spider-gear gyro inside to balance the bike at slower speeds.
This bike is capable of very high speed and with the rear chain and sproket unguarded like a real motocross bike, we strongly advise users to not allow children or pets near the bike while it is running.

I have one of these bikes. They are a great toy. However I note that they have been out of stock for months?? could there be a problem?? Could their be a patent infringment or court case with ARX?? They made the original model ARX540 and many parts are identical?? Can someone please update me here as I am really keen to buy another one as a spare.

Nice looking bike but I'm finding it hard to use it! I don't have the required skill to keep it up on its 2 wheels without falling over onto its roll bar things, which you then need to walk over to the bike stand it back up again to ride it off again. Otherwise it just does donuts around on the spot! :( Very tricky to use!

Bought one some months ago, put in 35A esc, locktighted all bolts, went ok..then tried 60A esc, went grouse...then I accidentally drove it off a cliff and was surprised to find only the steering wiper, plastic steering brackets, rider and rear shaft were bent and broken. Think I'll try higher kv motor to see if can get it faster..

I am very dissapointed with HobbyKing!!

I purchased a QRF400 1/4 scale dirt bike from HobbyKing in May 2011.

The item arrived with a part missing. I had purchased a spare part in the mean time to get the bike operational. After 10 minutes of riding the bike, the motor burnt out and the steering mechanism fell to pieces due to lack of threadlocking compound being used during factory assembly.

I then contacted HobbyKing and initiated a PayPal claim to recover the costs should HobbyKing fail to resolve the matter. After some emails to and fro, HobbyKing instructed me to withdraw the claim from PayPal. I replied by saying that once they resolve my problem, I would gladly withdraw the claim. HobbyKing consultants then insisted that If I did not withdraw the claim from PayPal, they would not resolve my problem - a form of blackmail as I saw it at the time.

With no choice, I withdrew the claim from PayPal on the basis that HobbyKing would resolve the issue with the missing part, burnt out motor and lost steering head parts.

After withdrawing the claim, I have not had any positive response from HobbyKing. None of the parts have been replaced. The bike is useless to me. Recent email correspondence is being ignored, and I sit with a cheap, poor quality R/C bike that I wish I had not purchased.

As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" - in this case a cheap QRF400 bike

got my bike today packed nicely no instructions but pitty for people who arent machinily minded would be hard for them to work out how to put together all and all top bike but make sure if you purchase a esc for this bike that it is suited for a 11.1 v battery or you will burn out the esc first run i use a venom 80 amp works fine dont forget to glue the rear tyre on also radio gear from hk is neat no problems with it on but goes hard nice rooster tails on dirt

Even no visible external damage on the box, I recieved the bike with broken steering arms due to bad fixing inside the double cardboard box. Please HK: fix properly the bike inside the box to not alow it to move during transportation. Add also an instruction document inside the box! Otherwise, very nice product for the price.
