these googles are just simply fantastic.....I can concur with everything that all the other reviewers have said.....have not seen or used a better set of googlesI'm short sighted and was pleased to find that this device works perfectly for me without my glasses. The screen image is bright and clear, the headset is remarkably light, and the fit on my face is good with very little light leakage.
I'm very pleased to see it has proper SMA connectors on, rather than the reverse polarity ones, since I make my own antennae and always use SMA connectors on them. The receiver is quite sensitive, my initial test was with a 25mW transmitted with a circularly polarized antenna fitted, two similar antennae being used on the headset. The results, from flying the transmitter in a fixed wing aircraft, showed that it was getting a perfect signal at a range of over 300 metres with no dropouts, although the camera used wasn't very good and the whole thing suffered as a result of that! I was quite impressed overall.
The latency isn't as good as can be achieved with some systems, but it's still quite decent and much cheaper than many equivalents, which usually can't be used with someone who needs glasses. On the whole I consider it to be a good buy, especially as it was on sale when I bought it and I got it for about 40% of list price :)Just got my Quanum Genesis and I am impress with the build quality and the FOV is just perfect for racing, gonna sell my Dominator v3! Highly recommend this goggles!!!I also own a FatShark Dominator V3, with about $420 invested in the goggles, receiver, antennas, and diopter kit. This FPV Goggle does the same thing for $165, and I can see the screen great without my glasses (I am near sighted).
The only problems with it:
o The FatShark battery came completely flat. I got it to accept a charge by dialing the charge rate down to 500 mA. It did not charge completely, according to the fuel gauge. The onboard balancing/protection circuit disconnects the battery from charge if you charge it at 1 amp. So far, the battery appears to be working
o It would be really nice to have a FAN like the Dominator V3 has...
Are you frustrated with the small screens when you fly your FVP, make the change - I LOVE the full screen of this goggle. Light weight, great screen, very happy - yes I look like a duffas, but the experience is so much better...Got the goggles 2 days ago for using them with my FPV Buggy.
Image Quality and Receiver sensitivity is impressive!
But: i had some Little pieces of fibers and styrofoam pieces on my Screen. Had to open up the goggles and remove the dirt. Also, mit lenses have tiny scratches, lke from cleaning them a bit too hard with some sort of Cloth during assembly.
But Overall, i'm satisfied and can recommend These goggles.
they came in 3 days crazy good time shipping! first i tried a surveilzone super HAD 600tvl it gave a crazy image so now i bought 2 fatshark cams the 600tvl and 960tvl cmos they work perfectly! cmos has a much faster frame rate so lower latency.
anyway the new 960 has awesome light changing abilities. there seems to be no delay no latency i can detect. thought id share. im going to try them out flying now as all testing thus far has been stationary indoors. using the 600mw and the air blade lhcp and 5 turn helical lhcp tx i don't think i will have any issues.
