The design aim of RS410 is to reduce the weight and size as much as possible, and make it suitable for the micro indoor electric aircraft. Do not take it for granted that micro aircrafts dont require a high capacity receiver. Only on few occasions that the reducing capacity of the receiver seems not have terrible impact. Once there are more transmitters around the ground, indoor RF is much worse than that of outdoor. Cordless phone usually have a 300m (1000) range in the open field, while indoors, when it will have some noise somewhere in the same room with the base unit. The engineers of CORONA noticed it. So, aside form using the latest SMT technology to manufacture RS410 of 4g only, they also make it have all the capacities of full-range receiver. Therefore, RS410 can be used by all the 4-channel R/C aircrafts, including micro indoor electronic plane and full-size glow plane.
See the RS 410 User Guide for more details.

Corona RS410 RX 36Khz

Nov 14, 2007

Finally managed to get some flying in on the weekend. Using the Corona RX on 36.590 KHZ (Australia) could fly the model as far away as I liked without any hits. Had 2 other TX's on at the same time and had no issues. Using Guard 60 AMP ESC and JR X9 TX in S&B ME163 with all electrics just crammed into the battery space including a data logger.

Longer range test

Nov 14, 2007

Additional to the above review.

I've now flown the test model out to as far as I could see it which was about 250m. We had two other TX's running and models flying as well. No problems at all.

The 4CH Corona uses a micro crystal BTW.

Looking good.

I just bought two more Coronas!

Corona 4CH test

Nov 14, 2007

I have field tested the receiver in my glitching test bed model, a brushed motor Electrafun XP. It has a history of causing problems in well known expensive brands of receivers.

The Corona passed the first flight test with full marks. No glitches or issues. It seems to be genuine DSP. Receiver mutes properly if TX is switched off. I tested for while with the TX antenna down to 1/4 length and again had no issues. Max distance from me was about 150m as it was getting dark. Longer range tests to follow.
