The Scarab V3 HexaCopter is the genius of a group of designers that created this awesome re-envisioning of a hex multirotor. HobbyKing was fortunate enough to be approached by several members of the design group, offering their frame designs to be manufactured and distributed to the open source community.

The Scarab V3 is a 550mm Hex like no other. Designed for FPV and sport flying in mind, the Scarab has a unique forward facing vibration isolated camera mount in line with the mainframe. This mount supports small action cams such as the GoPro and Turnigy HD. The frame has clearance for in frame ESC mounting between the two lower frame stacks and has 45~30.5mm FC mounting options. There are ample mounting provisions for all of your radio and FPV gear as well as an integrated rear battery mounting slot. Some slight modifications to the frame and motor arms were made to increase strength, reduce weight and increase compatibility with equipment. One of the more notable changes is the included CNC anodized aluminum arms. A modified design was conceived, which increased strength and reduced weight over the glass fiber option and adds a bit of “BLING” to the already cool frame design.

The Scarab V3 offers a fresh design with great looks and unique options not found in this class of multirotor.

Features:
• CNC aluminium arms
• FR4 frame construction
• Vibration isolated front camera mounting
• Ample equipment mounting options

Material quality is good but it's unnecessaryly overdesigned and very heavy. Though I got it for 1 USD so I can't complain.

Overall this hexacopter flys good. The only negative aspect of this kit is the vague and black and white build manual, which is just on one sheet of 8.5x11 piece of paper. I am running multistar 2213-980 kv motors swinging 8x4.5 apc props, coupled with turnigy plush 18a esc's. Powering it with Hobby People 4500 mah 11.1 v 30c pack, and for FC i am running a kk2.15 board. The PI gains had to be reduced significantly for this thing to fly normally. I am at Ail/ Elev PI 44, 10 respectively and for Rudd PI 59, 30 respectively. There is a mistake in the build manual which i address in a video that is posted under the vieos tab.
