There's a school of thought that places great value on function over form when it comes to aesthetics, and it has to be said that the Sky Eye here would probably please that school immensely!
However, what it lacks in terms of eye-candy, it more than compensates for in out-and-out practicality. With its 2 capacious, vertically stacked equipment bays, high mounted pusher motor, large (44dm2) shoulder mounted wing and simple boom mounted tail surfaces, the Sky Eye oozes functionality from every pore.
The unique vertical equipment bay arrangement allows you to separate your video, FPV and avionics equipment from the battery compartment by housing all of the cameras and video transmission/recording equipment together with the R/C gear and any stabilization or autopilot you choose to fit in the upper section with its transparent plastic viewing dome, while the lower section has ample room for any batteries that you might foreseeably need to use, adding stability and keeping preventing them damaging your valuable electronics in the event of an unscheduled arrival.
Both the high mounted pusher motor and the low-slung, lightweight carbon fiber tail boom are well proven and highly practical arrangements for this type of model, particularly where operating conditions are not ideal, and the shoulder mounted wing makes launching the model a breeze too.
Structurally, the Sky Eye is familiar territory with carbon fiber reinforced EPO flying surfaces and EPO with a plywood substructure for the fuselage, making assembly quick and straightforward and requiring the minimum of tools.
To finish theSky Eye, you'll need a minimum of 4 channel RC gear, 2 extra 9g servos if you want to use the optional flaps and a range of suitable adhesives. Please see the range of related items below for suggestions.
For an unrivaled, practical FPV/UAV, the Sky Eye is a hard act to follow.

After a while I wanted to experience the difference between one motor and the 2 motor configuration .
So I ordered 2 motor nacelles for this bird ,and have put in 2 NMT 3542 1000kv 700W motors
Man o man that is a big difference the plane is stable of it's on, and 1/4 motor is more than enough to float for a very long time , but now it's even flying solid, to feed the 2 motors I took up 2 x 8000Mah 4 cell battery's up ,it can take the extra wait easy ,and is now flying against the wind better ,( I don't know for 4Km ) but around the distance I fly 1KM it's more than enough to fly against strong winds .I leave the motors on . Have made 12 flights so far
with them and I like this configuration better than with 1 motor .This plane is not useful for long range because of the excess drag of the design. Very good for low speed floating at altitude near your launch point. I made the mistake of trying to fly 4km from home, and back into the wind, at full throttle, it ran out of battery and crashed before it could return home. This was with a 15 to 20 mph wind. My flying wing had no problem with this distance and the same battery and loading. If you want to float for a long time with short distances, this is the plane, but DO NOT fly any distance from your launch point unless there is NO WIND.This plane is a real topper ,It's building need a bit of practicing ( dry building with no glue ) to find out how it go's together . After that it is easy to get it together ,resulting in a very strange and unusual plane ,but a real good easy flyer and floater . It needs 2 battery's of 4s 5000mAh to get the center of gravity right ( or you need a considerable amount of lead to get it right) so better to take battery's up than lead .The motor supplied with the kit is not that good ,after 6 flights of 30 to 40 min it burned ,I used the stock prop 12x4.5 deliverer with the plane .
Have replaced the burned stock motor with a NTM PropDrive v2 4238 750KV with a 12x10 prop ,plenty of power and can handle the plane better than the stock motor.
My conclusion ,a very strange looking plane but a breeze to fly ,and capable to make long FPV flights .A real bargain at this price of €85 .I've been extremely happy with this purchase. Flying with arkbird auto pilot, antenna tracker and using 433 radio with 1.2 video. I loaded this up two 4s 5000mah batteries which have to be installed as far forward as possible for perfect balance. I'm not sure that it would be possible to even fly without at least two batteries up front. It had me concerned about the weight of the plane (mine was exactly at 7lbs) but it was no problem! Had plenty of hang time with motor off. I've gone up to 4k feet and a flight time of around 25min and my cells were at 4.02 when I landed. I Still need to preform more flights to test how much time I can actually get. The only draw back to this purchase was the motor it came with. It was supplied with a 12" prop but data on the more shows only to use up to a 10" prop. This plane with two lipos will be over 5 lbs always so the motor supplied with is two small. Although it had plenty of power it burned up after the 2nd flight. My suggestion is to purchase at least a .46 motor and it will be the perfect setupI've been extremely happy with this purchase.
