Sky 1.7M Hand Launch Composite Glider 1700mm

The Sky 1.7M glider has been designed for Hand Launch Class glider enthusiasts and is a must due to its wide speed envelope and superb thermalling characteristics, if you have never tried this style of flying then give it a go, it is great fun, this is pure flight at its best.

The high aspect wing has a double taper and polyhedral with an airfoil based on the SD7080-high lift wing section that has been specially modified for this glider. The wing has built in washout to stop tip stalling and this also reduces drag at higher speeds. This is a 2ch glider and can be either V tail or standard cruciform tail, if V tail it will require a radio with V tail mixing, ailerons are an option but are not needed as the polyhedral wing allows it to turn on a sixpence with just rudder and elevator.

The Sky 1.7M is a kit and construction is very straightforward but some degree of modelling skills are required. The manufacturers of this model use only the highest quality hand picked balsa, composite materials and seamless black poplar veneer wood sheeting to construct these flying works of art. The Sky 1.7m is the culmination of years of experience and design and its light wing loading, durability and great flight characteristics make it perfect for launching and flying in small area's.

For best results when finishing the wings and tail use the special lacquer which is shown in related items, easy to use for that professional finish.
