The HobbyKing® ™ Slick 55 blurs the line between foam and light plywood 3D airframes. Featuring a fully built-up fuselage and incorporating a light plywood framework covered with EPP foam, this Slick 55 is superlight for a model of its size. The combination of materials offers an ultra-light yet rigid airframe that is full bodied like a real airframe. Its rounded cowl, curved canopy, air-foiled stabilizers and smooth lines of the fuse really give this model a scale look.

The Slick's large control surfaces offer a huge amount of deflection thanks to the servo arm extensions. This combined with the ultra-light airframe allows for anything from lively sport flying to all-out extreme 3D; prop hanging, spins, tumbles and harriers are all well within this model's repertoire.

The Slick is outfitted with high quality hardware including carbon fiber landing gear and  plastic wheels with foam tires. No need to upgrade the hardware on this model, quality is already included.

The HobbyKing® ™ Slick 55 couldn't be easier to build with its bolt-on wings, pre-installed servo mount plates and magnetic canopy. Even the cowl clips on and off without the need for glue/screws. Assembly is simple, all you will need to do is hinge the control surfaces, glue in your horizontal/vertical stabilizers, attach the tail wheel mount and install your electronics.

This is one unique and beautiful model with flight characteristics to match. From sport flying to extreme 3D, the Slick 55 can handle it all.

5 crowns

Fantastic flyer and a great bang for the buck. It floats like a butterfly or stings like a bee. High quality components and linkage, easy build. using Turnighy G32 motor,60amp Blue series ESC, 4S nanotech 130mah. 16X8 propellor. Only drawing 48 amps. Can fly it hard for 6-8 minutes. Or just float around at 1/3 throttle for up to 15 minutes. Holds an awesome inverted flat spin and knife edges with ease. A great plane for anyone interested in aerobatic flying with a larger scale plane. Hope this plane stays in stock. I may want another

Slick 55 mit 6S

Dec 30, 2016

Unlimited 3D Plane

Dec 04, 2016

Wow!! It's hard to find word for this plane: it's simply unlimited! It fly very well, incredible performance with elevetor; Infinite WaterFalls!
I chose a very light setup, with Turnigy G32 600Kv brushless motor, Aerostar 70A Bec Esc with Turnigy Ultra Light Propeller 17x8 and 4s Lipo Turnigy Grafene 2200 45C! Great power! Also incredible this cheap servo, Corona DS236MG...super torque and perfect 0!
In the kit you will find all the necessary hardware to setup the plane; All the linkage are with uniball and screw with 2,5ma hex locknuts! Great!!!
14 flgiht at today, no one landing...it's more easy to land in hovering :P

Good choise

Nov 15, 2016

Slick 55 is a very good airframe with lots of potencials!Very good in slow fly and very fun to fly.I fly 3d almost 2 months now with my own made 3d planes.1st was Ft 3d second was Extra 300 wich was awesome and thats why i choose this airframe wich is pretty close to extra.Slick 55 quality is very very good with all parts come together easily, light weight for its size and pretty stable on flight. It took me about 6 hours to finish it and i highly recomend to use imidiatlelly the long servo arms in all servos. Here is my 1st flight video of what you are going about to take :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MF3L0Ad0eE

I have the models for more than a month now and here it is my setup: SK3-4250 500kv, YEP 60A, TGY nanotech 2650 mAh 6S, 15x8 TGY Ultra-light wooden prop and 4 X RS-3878MGT.

The motor has plenty of power for vertical speed up, the plane hovers at 1/2 throttle and harriers at about 1/3 maybe. The plane itself is very capable. I am still learning maneuvers, but I enjoy it a lot and I felt my skills went level up shortly after I have started flying with it. It is also capable of taking some beating and hard landings. I have had broken propeller and hit the rudder several times due to my mistakes, but within 1 hour of repair I was on the track again. 4 stars for quality because there is some play in the ball joints which annoys me and think it is pity, because it is something very small. I would rather pay 5 bucks more and have a better quality ball-joints. I will change them anyways. Overall I am very satisfied. I enjoy the plane, the price is very good and I am more relaxed to experiment than I would be with a 300Euro model.

Really a stunning Plane! Mine fly with a sk3 4250-500 on 5S 4000mA Turnigy with a Aeronaut CamCarbon 16x7 and Blueseries 70A ESC. Infinite vertical with lots of power, awesome 3D capabilities, fast rolls, torques wit half gas and about 9min of flight time. Kit quality is really ok for the price. Airframe is very lightweight an rigid, slots for rudder and elevator are straight and fits well. Small parts like screws and rudder horns are of good quality, complete and works fine. one star missing: left Side-Force-generator was gone on first snap roll and the mounting slot for the landing gear is weak. Landing gear ha to be glued in place with lots of thick epoxy. For the rest: By it! You can't get more 3D-Plane for that money!
