I use for Sabertooth. Not very good set-up by default so you need program card.
Usual I'm happy with purchase from HK, so I believe that is quality also.

Ive owned 2 of these for a while. They work great in my 1/8 buggy and Sc10. Here's the catch, the programming card only gives you limited options. You can't adjust timing, brake force, or battery voltage cutoff. The cutoff voltage is set too low at 3.0v. This esc can be great if you manage to find the Trackstar multifunction box. It will allow you to hook it to th computer and make more changes.
Overall, id recommend buying a HW SC8 esc instead. It's much better than this is for only 50$

Works good besides no low speed driving.

Overall it does what it needs but luckily I use it in my emaxx where I am always going fast because with the smallest throttle input to get it going I bet the truck does almost 5mph... Also ran it with a racerstar 4 pole 4076 2250kv(23T pinion) and it thermaled in about 10 minutes or less and today with a trackstar 6 pole 4268 2650kv(20T, ran this motor/pinion combo for 8 years with a HK 120A esc w/out issue) so I need to figure if it is sensing the motor temp and not esc temp, that or the heatsink isnt actually touching anything on the board because when it thermals the ESC heatsink isn't anyehere near hot.

For bashing only.

This ESC is very well priced. It has great acceleration and stong brakes. It is very responsive to throttle input. It has drag brake adjustment and initial braking adjustment. No cogging. And runs 4s no problems.

The problem is the very limited programming options even with the program box. (Trackstar turbo programming box) no brake force adjustment, so you have 100% all the time. There is also no option to change battery voltage cutoff. The voltage cutoff is set very low at 3v per cell. That is dangerous to discharge to that voltage. It seems that minimum throttle input is pretty high, so when you try to drive slow you cannot. The minimum speed seems pretty fast, but does not cog. There also has been a couple times where it does not move when throttle is pressed, it will just buzz for a second and then take off.

Overall, I would suggest you buy a different ESC. HobbyWing SC8 ESC is the same price and is a waterproof 120amp ESC with lots of programming options and very reliable.
