today it came to me.
nice engine, but it's not the .28 engine. the hole is 16.3mm
So, be careful.
Also, during breaking-in, I recommend to turn back clockwise 0.5-1 turn of the low-speed noddle for the more rich mixture. do it after the successful start the engine

Pretty much what this guy said;
"Winibald
" Mine came with a turbo head, as advertised. But then I proceeded to check the engine internals for metal shavings and such, and for applying pre-run lubrication. The bore looked rather small to me for a .28, so I measured it and it came in at 16,9mm. The stroke on mine was 16,8mm (.21 size crank I suspect) so that works out to about 3,75cc or just under .23ci of displacement. Also, the footprint of this engine is just a little bit larger than other "21 size" engines I've had. It'll take some work to shoehorn into my Savage X SS. The carb insert had damaged o-rings, the head bolts weren't torqued evenly, the standard stuff why you go through an engine before running it. The piston fit is "reasonable", I'm sure it will run. "
Mine DOES use turbo plugs. It's starts easily, and runs fine, but IT IS A .23 @ ~ 0.660" bore and 0.660" stroke, which makes it a struggle a little to push a heavy vehicle around. Ill probably wind up putting in something lighter.
Great price anyway.

The engine arrived in good order and the packaging was great. Of course the first thing I see is that the head isn't a turbo head and uses regular glow plugs. When you look down that hole and it's a perfect circle all the way down, obviously a turbo plug which has a tapered end just like the hole it sits in, it isn't going to fit! Regardless, I had plenty of regular glow plugs on hand. What bothers me is that I ordered turbo plugs elsewhere (because HK was out of stock) and I didn't even need them. The engine starts on the first and second pull every time and tunes well. I'm pleased with it overall.

Further to my initial review of the engine, it's a terrific engine, having run it in and then it ending up two feet under water in a pond(my fault), completely underwater and having dried it out , cleaned carb etc, started no problem at all. I've posted or tried to post a vid of it other day.
The turbo plug issue seems to cause a few problems, some users saying it takes a turbo plug and others saying it doesn't myself included, I have both types of car and this takes standard glow plugs, a turbo plug has a wider thread and deeper thread so the others aren't using turbo plugs they're using standard plugs that they think are turbo plugs.
But gotta say 10/10 engine for the money etc, good one hobby king I'm gonna buy another one asap.

Put this on my buggy . Has great run times . This did use a turbo plug . Seen many people say it doesn’t . I bought 3 engines total . Thinking about another 3 for storage .

I have this engine and is now we'll broken in, it is very fast and plenty of grunt, unlike some reviews, I had no problems so far and turbo plugs fit like a glove. One issue, the rubber stopper on pull cord perished and split and needed a repair

So despite the reviews, I bought this engine and figured at 54 euros, they can only screw me for 54 euros. Mine came with a turbo head, as advertised. But IMO the cold pinch is rather weak to make good power once broken in. Now, the good part: I filed a return claim, because the engine is far from the advertised 28, and to my surprise, HK promply refunded me. This is why I gave it an overall 3 star rating.

I purchased this engine and I'm impressed but a few niggles.
The advert states it takes a turbo glow plug, so bought three f them for it and guess what !!! It takes standard glow plugs not turbo ones.
I should have read other review before I wasted another £15 on there turbo plugs... Live and learn

Turbo plug doesent fit. One way bearing jammed on second tank of fuel which also broke the pull stater! Other than that nice engine.
