Looking for a Plug and Fly trainer that can take a beating? The Trainstar is the model you are looking for!
This model features a blow moulded fuselage with internal ply reinforcement - it is tough! The wing is resilient EPO foam with internal spars for additional strength.
This version is a Plug and Fly package that includes all the equipment needed to assemble the model including pre-installed servos, ESC and brushless outrunner. You will require your own 4-6 channel radio system (Transmitter and receiver), 1800mAh 3s Lipo battery and battery charger.
There is even the option to add flaps at a later stage if you wish - the hardware to do so is also included, just add an additional 2 9grams servos.

I justo received the plane and it came with no manual, but you can bring it down in the upload files. But it seems easy to put together for somebody that had put together some airplanes before. This aircraft withstood the toughest of my trainee pilots over 9 months of abuse, and still going strong, highly recommended. The Trainstar handles low impact crashes very well.
It's also a very nice flyer and I enjoy it myself for just cruising around the field. The supplied motor and servos are good, but my student now wants more power :P
The Trainstar is a good looking tail dragger that develops all basic flying skills. It's very light and responsive, prone to turbulence and forces students to cope with wind. Light winds are recommended for beginners.
I put a better Turnigy 40a ESC in from the start, as the original was getting hot quickly.
I properly hinged all the control surfaces.
After a few crashes, the internal plywood bits needed re-gluing, easy enough to do, as the original glue was sparsely applied.Got one of these to replace the old standard 40 size trainer as more guys have a spare 2200 battery lying around than glow fuel or starting gear. And this is tough enough to take a beating from the trainees and survive. Would recommend for a strong electric version of the old standard 40 size trainer.Great plane to start with Its very light weight and will blow around in the wind...so beginners should fly on clam days this plane floats nicely and I think i will put an orange 3 axis gyro and a higher kv motor and esc for some faster filght speed as i am not a begginer...Tail wheel as others have said should be just screwed in place but nNot hooked up to the tail rudder It streers just fine and this way it will not damage the rudder...I painted my wings with red and white like the decathilon...I've had this plane for a few weeks now & have flown it 6 times. It is amazing for the price!
The instructions suck, the tailwheel steering is not great & landing a taildragger is not the easiest, but it's a tough plane & is proving great to learn with.
It's my first plane & I'm 6 flights in with no damage or issues.
Just received plane. Fast delivery. Instructions are very poor. Per usual the parts dont fit exact. Not enough of the proper size screws to assemble. China has a good idea on products, just does not follow thru. Better be an experienced builder to put this together. This is a very durable trainer! I have plowed it into the ground several times, flown it thru a tree, which ripped the wings off and it glued back together with Gorrila Glue and still flying, the plastic pieces for the tail (rudder and elevator ) broke so I used 4-40 all thread four washers and four nuts to bolt it back together, its still hanging in there. As you can tell I am a beginner pilot, I have built several planes over the last 40 years none of which ever got flown, I was afraid to crash after all that build work. But that knowledge helps keep this one in the air. So if your just starting out like me and looking for a good trainer, I recommend this one ! It also helps to use flight training software.A plane really tough! I've got it since i was a beginer and crashed it a maiden; straight into the nose, and no damage at all!!! Ilt still flying for relaxing days and scale fly.
The plane flyes smooth, the aileron are small and just help you to control the rolling and keep straight. There is a better yaw control with the ruder much responsive. The plane is a bit heavy and it need elevator to fly scale. The motor is powerfull, full throtle give a loop. Flaps are effectives but not essentials. i fly with 2200 20c or 2100 35c. good balance and fly time. Be carreful to check the screws, i lost the tailwheel and had to make a new one with the linkage, spareparts are hard to find!
So it's a good trainer that need to control the 3 axis to fly clean. It's too heavy with too small ailerons to be nimble and make aerobatics, but fly scale and is impressive in the air. Some people tought it was a true plane...Great model very tough had it in a tree once for a few days slight damaged it still flew again good value for the money
