I recently installed a new never before used 42-65A-400 in a Mustang "Blue Nose" 60. At near full throttle on take-off the nose cone separated from its backing plate. This was caused by the threaded prop. shaft that fastens to the front of the motor not being in line with the motor shaft. A machine shop is attemting to correct this. If it can't be fixed it's scrap. Maybe H.K. will send me a new threaded shaft or a new motor. In case H.K.wishes to do so, my order number was 2001616735.

I installed this motor in a Hangar 9 Mustang "Blue Nose". This motor is new out of the box so I was very disappointed when it vibrated so much under full throttle that the nose cone tried to pull away from the backing plate. It turns out that their must be a serious problem with the quality control as the treaded shaft that screws onto the front of the motor with 4 screws is not running parallel with the motor shaft. I tried rotating this threaded shaft with no improvement & even tried shimming the face plate with no success. Since it is not practical to return it to Hobby King for replacement I have had to take it to a machine shop to have the problem rectified & get my Mustang in the air.

Use this motor in a Flitework Extra 300 lp v2 with 16x10APC and Turnigy 6S5000mAh 25C. Plane has a lot of power, flight time is about 12 minutes and still 1300-1500mAh capacity. Great motor for less money.

FIVE STARS!

Overall the Turnigy 50-65A is an excellent (and powerful) 0.60 sized brushless motor. I used this motor to power an Extra 330L (55" wingspan), which weighs about 6.5 lbs. AUW. Motor provides tons of power on 6S, 14x8.5" APCe prop, easily 10-11 lbs. of thrust. Motor doesn't even become warm after a 6-7 minute flight. Has a nice polished finish to it, great color scheme, looks great in the nose of the Extra. Balance seems ok on even at full throttle, some Turnigy motors I have owned in the past had balance issues but this one was fine.
