Used this so I can run 2S lipos for the receiver in a nitro Traxxas Revo; flawless.

Works a treat. Pumps out a steady voltage with no interference with my receiver.

Really crap.
I try to use it in a 450er as external BEC.
I measure an curancy of 2,5A peak when i shake the sticks (on ground).
Too much for my ESC. So i built in this 5A in hope too be in specs.

But the result looks bad. same test with this BEC and the receiver reboot.
So the output is under 2A (5V)

Dangerous to flight with this BEC.

Bench tested @ 5v, 2.5 amp load and caused a thermal shutdown within a few minutes. Removed shrink tube for better ventilation but 5v, 2.5 amp load still causes thermal shutdown. I have 2 units and they both perform the same.

this can take high Voltage input, good if you have multiple setup with different operating voltages.

I purchased and tested two of these units. They get extremely hot under load so I would advise providing a decent airflow to get any reliability (Heat kills). Treat them as a 3A BEC with 5A surge and you should be good!!
