Nice motor for the price. I'm using it on a KDS Innova 550 with a 15T pinion and 4500mah 6S 50C Lipos. Lots of power and very smooth. I'm using a YEP 100A (the early Helidrive version). Timing is set to auto and 8KHz PWM. The motor is quite hot at the end of a flight, but not too hot. You can touch it, but not for very long. I may try manual timing around 5 degrees. I see the new Scorpion HKIII-4025 1100kv 3T motor calls for 8KHz PWM and 5 degrees timing. So all up I'm very pleased with this motor. p.s. make sure you put a bit of thread lock in the motor shaft set screw hole, on the bottom of the motor, to stop it backing out in flight.

Useing this motor with a 13 toogh pinion. lots of power!

Pinion gear = (Target RPM) * (Teeth on main gear) / (Motor KV) / (Voltage) / (Motor efficiency)

2000 (rpm) * 170 (teeth) / 1180 (KV) / 22.2(Voltage) / .96 (ME) = 13.5 Pinion

Been hearing about people getting 1 or 2 flights before turnigy motors burning up. Do a check of the wires coming out of the motor. This motor I purchased, found 2 out of the 3 wires were cut on the body of the motor and touching the metal. Luckily it was caught before putting it in.

I was able to get some heat shrink tubing on each wire. The edges of the motor around the openings are sharp. So keep an eye out for this.
