    Product Description

    Well made and robust all metal servoless retract unit to suit up to 90 size models. This unit operates through an angle of 90 degrees so is perfect for many types of aircraft, (Please note: the leg retracts away from the motor unit). Incorporated in the retract is an advanced micro controller with intergrated circuit to automatically stop the retract when it reaches the end stops or if something jams, this protects the unit from over current draw and also stops the battery being inadvertently flattened.

    Plugged one of them in and worked for 2 seconds then stopped. No smoke, no black marks, no loose connections. Something must have crapped out on the circuit board. Pretty poor - given they are not exactly cheap. The other one works fine.

    1 of 2 faulty, my fix worked

    Here same thing, 1 of teh 2 wasnt working. it went up or down once.
    I tried the fixes that where posted here, like raising the magnet. but did not work.
    Did some research and found that one of the reedswitches was always off.
    Ordered new 7mm reed switches and soldered it in.
    Works great now.
    Would advise hobbyking to test al of there retract before shipping.
    At this price range you can expect everything to work, every time.

    Purchased two of these units for a 3DLabPrint MkIX project. Units appear to be well made and have a smooth operation.
    Unfortunately one of the units failed ‘out of box’, but I cannot fault Hobby King’s Warranty process, as the replacement was authorised within 24 hours of my providing pictures of the failed unit and a replacement arrived a couple of days later.
    All working well now!

    I'm very disappointed.. one of two motors cannot stand a minimum torque, it stucks in the middle of the course and sometimes shuts down the entire system (seems it asks for A LOT of Amperes when it fails). The other one is fine and works well.
    Now I have a claim ticket under investigation and I have to wait who knows how much time to hopefully receive a working one (and I also hope not to pay the customs fees again).
