Turnigy SK3 brushless motors are yet another step forward in motor evolution.

Once again we instructed our engineers to develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of the leading motors on the market today using the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available.

The result is an outstanding series of motors that are efficient, strong and robust enough for the most discerning modeller.

All of the SK3 series use quality double shielded bearings, sintered neodymium magnets (the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available) and a string wound stator to ensure an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modellers who are seeking a top quality brushless motor without compromise.

• Double shielded bearings
• Sintered neodymium magnets
• String wound stator

Don't let model number fool you

Dec 11, 2018

I picked up this motor on a super sale, but the 2826 model number is pretty deceptive. That's the overall size of the motor, not the stator diameter and length as most model numbers are. If you check the product specifications, they say the can dimensions are 21x06mm. That seems a little low as this appears to be around a 2208 size motor (only measured from the outside, this is an estimate, it very well might be a 2106). I get 0.6A@8V no-load current, and 0.22ohm phase resistance. The power rating is just 125W, so on 3S you're looking at a max 10A draw. The best match for this motor is probably 3S and a 8x4.5 prop (530-580g thrust), or at most a 9x4.5 (620g thrust) although this isn't a great combination for efficiency. An EMAX 2210 1270KV will give you more thrust at greater efficiency and uses sensible model naming.
The quality is quite good for what it is though, and includes a 5mm shaft prop spinner and mounting bracket/hardware, as well as 3.5mm bullet connectors preinstalled on the motor wires.

Customer Rated

the motor seems high quality but specs are wrong. HK is selling two Aerodrive SK3 2816-1130 with the same name and different specification. The clear or dark picture (with the same name) are the only difference you can see in their list.
I tested this motor up to 12.3A and up to 152W and gets very hot. So my conclusion is that the stated "max current 17A" & "max power 173W" are wrong and the right numbers are those of the other listed motor (dark) with "max current 13A" & "max power 125W". The same issue is going on with other SK3 motors... Hope this help!!!
