Turnigy SK3 brushless motors are yet another step forward in motor evolution.

Once again we instructed our engineers to develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of the leading motors on the market today using the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available.

The result is an outstanding series of motors that are efficient, strong and robust enough for the most discerning modeller.

All of the SK3 series use quality double shielded bearings, sintered neodymium magnets (the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available) and a string wound stator to ensure an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modellers who are seeking a top quality brushless motor without compromise.

Features:
• Double shielded bearings
• Sintered neodymium magnets
• String wound stator
• High quality finish
• Super-smooth operation

Hi RC Friends. Just a heads up before you buy one of these excellent motors.

After about 15 to 20 flights varying from 2mins to 5.30mins on a 4cell Zippy 2650 25C battery I noticed a change in the 'noise' coming from the motor which normally ran very quietly.
On stripping it down I found the 2 front bearings were worn out completely, very gritty, and the rear bearing was still smooth. This was exactly the same with my previous 3542-840kv motor with much less flight time. I can only say that the blog regarding the excellence of these bearings is false and at the least, very misleading. I have had to replace these bearings which cost about $8 to $10 each at my local brg shop. Most annoying. I suggest all who buy this motor/s should change the front 2 bearings before flying. It's easy to do. Remove the rear collett and simply pull the rotor from the stator. Be careful when re-assembling as the magnets are strong and can pinch you fingers as it snaps together. Prevent this by holding each part firmly and bring together slowly.
The bearing size is: 8mm O/D x 5mm I/D x 2.5mm wide with metal seals both sides.
Turnigy should review the dubious quality of these small bearings.
Both motors have been used in my control line Oriental weighing 1.5Kg and flys well, pulling 380W, 24A, 40deg C. 55mph on a 10x6 APC-E prop.

Big O
