I brought one, this blew up after 5 minutes with a motor that only pulls 90A... thought it might be the motor or a bad ESC, Brought a new motor and another one of these ESC's, the motor was recommended on the forums after a week of looking.... This was a bad idea.. This also blew up, lets hope that the product being within the 14 days warranty will get a full refund.Very nice looking esc, but thats about it. Mine lasted 3 uses, about 20 mins all up before it died. The setup was on 5s pulling about 70 amps max, well below the 160 amp cont rating. I decided to repair it myself rather than mucking around sending it back, but after seeing the quality of the insides I wont bother. An extra zener diode had been added on the input and very poorly done resulting in a short, damaging the two filtering caps. There are also numerous other suspect joints as well. Wouldn't waste your money
It's works fine. BUT, there are two problems. The first one is funny. As you can see, there is a mount rail on the side of the housing. Maybe they planned to mount the switch on it. But if you decide to do this, you realise the switch will be in the way of the cooling pipe. :D The second one, is the material of the cooling pipe connectors is iron, so it's get rusted in a year, and the rust close the hole, so the water cant flow troug, your ESC can get overheat.Hello Guys,
I had a bad expierence with Turnigy Aquastar 160A ESC - it burned out in the first hundred meters in my Pursuit (4s lipo)..........
I need to choose another ESC...It`s Crap makes the motor "Jitter/misfire" it does not operate as a good esc should over 60-75pcnt throttle opened a RMA 2015-09-03 but all i get is Waiting Initial Evaluation No updates So i Writing this as a warning to everybody Stay away from this oneHabe den Regler jetzt ca. ein Jahr in der Princess in Betrieb. Funktioniert tadellos.
Jedoch musste nach der Winterpause etwas Rost aus der Khlleitung entfernt werden.
Hier wirken jedoch WD 40 oder Ballistol wahre Wunder.
Gre Tomhe usado en una Lancha rc, 2900kv 1300w helice 40 4s, y va bastante bien, pero me entro un poco de agua, y ya no respondeafter 4 run it exploed and now my hull is black inside. i used thi on outterlimits whit 4s lipo and stock motor.bought it twice. the first time i blew it because my boat made water and the ESC is NOT waterproof!! i potted the second one and now it runs great.. excellent combination with the 3974 motor! .. good product!I bought 2. I sail in salt water and both have failed due to water ingress. There is virtually no attempt to make the ESC waterproof and even my attempts failed. When the are going they are great but I am not convinced they are a true marine product like the HK big black 120A esc which in my experience is submersible.
If you csn keep it dry then go for it. If not look elsewhere.
