Excellent motor!

Jul 07, 2020

Runs the K&B 28mm water jet brilliantly on a 3 cell.
Yup, mine leaked water as well. Not much but also an easy fix by mixing a small amount of epoxy glue and filling the void where the wires enter the body. No more worries.

Great for the price!

Read other reviews stating it leaks water. Haven’t noticed that on mine but in a jet boat that eventually gets water in it anyway. I just glued up the spot where the wires enter as others have mentioned and it hasn’t caused any issues

LEAKS

Mar 17, 2020

Bought two, both leaked.
There are copious reports on this problem and the suggested solution. Seems the water comes out through the wire aperture and not from the shaft seal. Which was also my experience.
Reported in to HK, but could see little point in sending back as probem is endemic to this motor. Out of stock anyway.
Decided to squeeze silicon sealant all around the wires to seal the aperture, fortunately had good access..
After a short amount of running, leak seems to be cured. Going to continue with model into further test runs but think problem is solved.

Great little motor.

I bought 3 and they all leaked but it's really easy to fix which I did to all three motors. They leak where the wires come out of the cooling ring. There is a space around the wires where they enter. Simply mix a bit if epoxy glue and pour it into the area around the base of the wires. Don't over fill. It only takes a small amount and it doesn't seem to enter the workings of the motor. Only put glue on the cooling ring area otherwise your going to glue the two parts of the motor together. You can test by blowing through the cooling tube and blocking the other end. If it leaks you'll hear it. Cheers and happy boating.

nice Motor, good looking, powerful, but - I should have read the reviews before - it's leaking like hell. Gotta find another one and ask for refund for this. Can only recommend not to buy this one :(

Mine is leaking too, most of the water exits the motor via the axle. Will try to fix, after de-installing the fan you can unscrew the axle and open the motor. A bit dissapointed but should have read the reviews before buying.

I purchased two, sending two back, leaks around shaft, should have headed other reviews.
Very tedious sending back and then I have to reconfigure the boat.
