Brought this Bad boy to give my Eflite Apprentice a bit more grunt.Fitted with a 11x8.5Apc and a Hobbyking 60amp Esc,this motor had that much grunt it almost took off my work bench! Cant wait to put it in the Apprentice and get some real power Happening,i also have a Turnigy 910kv and both these motors are so quiet and smooth,if your after a No-Nonsense Motor that isnt afraid of going fast get this one for sure!!Bought this motor for my hobby zone glasair ( same as the sportsman s.) Fitted a master airscrew 9x6 prop ( after reaming it to 5/16) and The torque increase is night and day. You have to toss the stock esc in the parts bin ( it's only 18 amp) and install a 40-50a unit with the upgrade, but it's well worth it! Motor was perfect length match for the old stock 960kv 480 motor, two of the mounting holes matched up and two needed to be brought in a touch. The stock spinner would not work however because you have to use the supplied prop adapter (5mm shaft) and it has no provisions for the Center screw that holds it on.
So if you need a bit more power in a hobbyzone plane that has the old tractor 480 motor because u added some fpv gear ( as I did) this is a very good choice.Bruit désagréable à un régime proche du ralenti, puis bon fonctionnement. probablement un pb de roulements.
Convient bien à un Funcub avec une hélice 13X4 (3s - 410 W , 36A) après avoir retourné l'axe.Good motor. I use it on a Super Dimona 2m40. It's perfect with a 11X5,5 Carbon prop and 3S LiPo draws around 33 Amp at full throttle : 367 Watt - 9400 RPM .Just put this motor in my PZ Sport Cub and I absolutely love it. On a 4s 45c 2200mah zippy swinging a 10x5 APC it draws 39A at startup and backs off to around 37-38A. I think it's safe to assume in the air average WOT amperage is closer to 35A.
After a short 5 minute flight just gunning it all over the place mostly 3/4 to WOT the motor is cool enough to touch and hold with your fingers(113 degrees F - this is in southeast Louisiana with 100pcnt humidity and close to 95F ambient).
Fits my application perfectly and for being an XP the bearings are not that bad. Definitely a solid motor.
-tayzeGreat motor so far. Balance is very good. Using on a SkyHunter weighing ~2 kg as a pusher on 4s, 11 x 5.5 prop. Draws 45 amps and 650 watts.Bought this to install on my Fun Cub.
Flew it on 3S for about 2 years, and was very pleased, untill... I tried on 4S, and a new world was opened to me. The plane sky rockets with unlimited vertical climb until past the clouds!
With this motor the fun cub is capable of carrying 0.5 Kg "bombs", or 3 "paratroopers", a GoPro, or towing a 5 foot banner.
ESC is a Turnigy Plush 60, batteries are now Turnigy 4S 2650 mAh 25C.
Had a few crashes, but it still runs great.
Great motor !I put this motor on a thrust test stand I made, using a 45amp esc and an 11x7 3-bladed prop I measured 38A / 410w with 1670 grams of thrust.
It pulls my 1200 gram plane beautifully with awesome vertical.
My buddy has the same motor with a 13x6.5 2-bladed apc prop on a 1400 gram plane and it has almost unlimited vertical.Excellent motor, good power to weight ratio!
I've been flying it on a CMS Pilatus P3! About 3.6lbs. and 1500mm wingspan. It likes the 3-blade 10X7 MasterAirscrew and the 11x5.5 2-blade APC; that's on 3S.
GREAT MOTOR!Very very good motor! Cannot recommend highly enough. Sold elsewhere as DYS and made by a very reputable oem manufacturer in china.
Great quality, nice windings, decent bearings, connectors come pre-soldered and the adapter and mounting kit are included too.
Don't panic about the 70A speedo, it runs just fine on a 50-60A with no fire to speak of. Turns a 13x6 on 3S and gives bags of power, the big fat bearings are good for high G loadings and it's lovely and smooth. Stick one in the EPP hybrid MXS or Edge and you'll have a very capable 3D setup.
Highly recommended, I still love this combo even after the arrival of a PA bandit :)
