Propeller APC 12x6, battery 4s, current 40AGot this motor on my homemade foamy Piper Cherokee 1400mm and it's just perfect. Got high climb rates and slow flying altogether. Using a 11x7 prop Master Airscrew and a 3000mAh 4S battery, only pulls 32 Amps! So a 40A plush will do it... Can't recommend it more! Flying weight is 2.4Kg but it easily pulls 2.9Kg with a 3300Mah a GoPro and two other small cameras... Don't doubt it, for the price you won't get anything better!
Caveats: Motor shaft is 8.5mm so I had to drill my prop... I'm not totally happy with that since some vibration can be perceived, specially full throttle... I also had to glue the four screws for the motor mount with steel epoxy or it would just get loose...

Im running mine on a 13x6.5 with a 3S as I was recommended, has anybody any ideas how to improve as the plane seems slow !Did the same as GLEN
Installed it on a Unique Model 1200mm Corsair with same prop (12x6), 50A ESC and flight well. Great torque and speed (quite slow for me but enough ^^.
I measure about 40 amps,.
I'll try with 11x7 APC prop to try to improve speed regardless the torque.
Becareful with this plane. It need to add a lot of weight, in order to balance it (I had to add about 150g in the nose of the plane)

Recommended product.I installed this motor in a Unique Models 1200mm Corsair (also sold here at HK). Additionally, I upgraded the ESC to a HK 50A red. With an 12x8 APC prop, I'm pulling 41 amps with a fresh 4s battery. That's 642 watts (at a measured 15.7 volts during the test) with 1.74 Kg of thrust. Seems like a well matched prop. The Corsair flies great now. Nice performance improvement for the plane, and I can actually use mixed throttle during the flight, instead of needing to be full throttle all the time. Definitely recommended.I ordered 6 of these motors. After running each motor, 2 of them are vibrating very strong. It's bad that this isn't checked before shipping...Big and beefy. It's a great motor for larger model rc planes.great motor would put on par with a 40 sized motor depending how you prop it. love the turnigy range never had one let me down .
firstly I used a 12x8 pulling 615 watts at 45a on 4s now im using a 13x4e at 550watts at 31a on a 4s. don't use 3s it wont give any performance for the size and weight of the motor.
