Great and powerful motor for t

Feb 11, 2009

It's one of the best outrunners I have in my collection. I use it in an old glow-to-electric converted bipe which is approx. 30 years old. Wingspan is approx. 1560mm. With a 12x6 prop, 60A ESC and 4S2P battery the motor only gets slightly warm despite pulling 69 amps at full throttle. There is plenty of power to regain control if it stalls (happens very quickly with this plane) and to do some basic aerobatics (loops, rolls, turns).

I'm not sure if you guys still think what u wrote is current . I have had 2 of these disassemble after 3 flights(24 mins in air), starts with stator connecting with magnets & finishes with all flying apart. Great when going but very short lived. Model = Tiger 30 low wing trainer very disappointed with motor life.

After givig power on the workbench, the prop flew out together with the axis. Utter crap.

The problem is the small screw which is supposed to hold the axis in place. It is glued it but in my case was not tightened enough.

Powerful Motor

Dec 04, 2008

I'm running this Turnigy along with a 4S, 3500 30-40C Zippy Battery and a 72 Amp Tsunamy ESC, installed on my big trainer - Black Horse Liberty 182, with a total weight of 2.850 gr.

Despite the quite high Amp draw, I achive an unlimited vertical and extreme power, which is quite funny for a trainer.

Prop settings.

APC 11*5.5580W48 Amp.

In summarize, Great Product, performance and price.

Be careful with this motor, as it can only be mounted from the back. You cannot fit it into an electric glider nose for example.
