Turnigy SK3 Competition Series motors are the newest addition to our SK3 motor line-up offering the absolute best quality, performance and efficiency for your model on a competition level. Each and every SK3 Competition Series motor is thoroughly inspected and tested to ensure the high efficiency and top performance required for meeting the demands of competition flying.

Turnigy GliderDrive Competition Series motors are top quality outrunners designed specifically for use in today's high performance glider models. These motors are effectively an "outrunner in a can" meaning that the outside of the motor does not spin. This gives you the mounting advantages of an inrunner by not having to worry about clearance for the outside of the motor can to spin. They also feature a tapered front end allowing them to fit into the slim nose of most gliders/hotliners with ease.

We instructed our engineers to source the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available to them and develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of many leading motor manufacturers on the market today.

The result is an efficient, high caliber motor using quality double shielded bearings, sintered Neodymium magnets and a string wound stator ensuring an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a top quality brushless motor without compromise.

This motor is designed for use in gliders/hotliners running on 3~4S Lipo batteries and swinging propellers in the range of 10~12 inch diameter.

Using this motor in a Multiplex Solius. Fits well with a little trimming of the hatch. With a YGP 45A ESC it works very well with the Multiplex supplied 12" folding prop. Spectacular climb rate in 3 cells. Can't measure current. Quiet and very powerful. High qualty motor.

I have this motor in a 4M ALES glider 1940g with a 12X6 prop. Pulls 30A at 10.8V gives 7800rpm. I have it in a CLM Pro fuse that fits perfectly. Last year I ran it with a 3 Cell 1300mAh battery and was able to get to 150M easily in 30 sec. This year I will use a 4 cell and have practiced getting to 200M in 25 seconds repeatedly. It pushes the limits a bit at 41A and 14.8V with the 12X6 prop, but it's a 25 sec run. I might try it with an 11X8 prop, I hear that works pretty well.

LOVE this motor !
I installed it on Radian glider. It is extremely quiet running on 3S LiPo and a 12x8 APC folding propeller. It needed a 5mm collet adapter, which I had in my parts bin. It climbs like a rocket ! again, it is so incredibly quiet. The fir in the radian is very good. It is heavier than stock, but it is worth it for me.

A powerful motor. Swinging a 10x6 prop, my 1600 Phoenix climbs away vertically. Probably adds 60pcnt speed increase to the Phoeinix over stock set up.

Very nice motor with high quality bearings. Perfect for my MPX Solius with Aeronaut 10x6 prop. (3S 2200mAh - ~27A)

"OK" not "GREAT". "BETTER THAN SOME". in terms of quality. Comes in pretty box but no spec shhet nor even the 4 3 mm screws required for mounting, nor any indication of the size of bullet connectors requied to connect ESC. This feedback will hopefully be read by HK-the 3mm screws I purchased from you (THAT DELAYED MY BUILD) ARE NOT A TIGHT FIT. OK maybe with loctite I'll be lucky. But WOW either include the screws and mounting bracket OR SPECIFY REQUIRED/NOT INCLUDED. It's the little details that take the stars away because of the hassle factor. 960kv? REALLY??? perhaps a little optimistic. Not as efficient as I had hoped BUT perhaps that's "THE MISSING SCREWS TALKING:)

Fits flawlessly into the nose of a Great Planes Siren. If your goal is to just climb and then shut the motor off, I'm sure the 12x6 prop is fine, but for me, on 3s, the 12x6 was waaaay too slow. On 3s, the 11x8 carbon-fill prop you can get here on HK is much, much better. From the hip, it speeds things up nicely, has plenty of thrust and draws about the same current. I stuff two 2200mah 3s batteries in the nose and get about 11 minutes of motor-on time, ending aroung 3.75v per cell. I'd love to try this on 4s. Quality motor! I'm happy with it.
