A very good motor for the money. I have 2 of them.
One of them was used with a 8x6 prop, on my flitetest versa wing. The motor got a little hot, because the prop is to big, but it still works just like a brand new motor. Thats after 30 flights of 10 min, and i have gone full throttle in the flights quite a few times. Very impressed with the perfomance. I got about 280 watt from that setup.
You should use a 7x4 prop to keep it under 180 watts, but i think they can handle a little more.This is a good motor for small models. I got 600g thrust out of it with a 7x4 prop on a 3S battery. At full throttle it was pulling under 17 Amps but it did use 200 Watts of power, but that was with a fully charged battery. After the battery gets to nominal voltage (11.1V) it should be pulling under 180W, so with this setup you need to be careful on a fully charged battery.Great little motor. Flys on a yak 450 grams with a 30 amp esc and 9.5 gws propeller cut down to 8" . I tapered the trailing edge 1/4" also to reduce amps a little and it works great.
8.4 propeller works as well but not as fast . straight up at half the rate.Very good motor! I use it on a Teksumo with 7x6 prop. The prop isn't perfect but this setup runs smooth and the motor works well temperatured when I don't fly full throttle all the time. The bearings seem to be durable and there are very low vibrations. 5/5 stars!Great engine. Good value and very powerful. My plane (a scratch-build) seems to be able to accelerate vertically with this engine, a 20a ESC, 1000mah 3s, and 7x5e prop. Plane weighs 430g with engine on. Actually a very quiet engine as well. The only problem is that the bearings are not very good. After a few flights they made a strange crackling noise.Paired with a 25 or 30A ESC this motor gives a good parkfly punch with a 7x4. Used one eg. in a Swift II (similar to the Bonsai) on 3S (1300mAh) with good power!Seems like a good motor. Use a 7x4 inch or smaller prop, any bigger and you will probably draw too many amps. I tried a 9x6, 8x6, 8x3.8 and all pulled too high of amps - Around 30. Won't work for the project I got it for (63" Predator Drone), but, I will be using it on another plane.I am still waiting for shipment from EU warehouse.
