The Turnigy Neutron 80W Charger is the latest and most innovative battery charger, with its super cool aesthetics and touch screen. This has become the "must have" charger for all RC fans. The Neutron 80W charger has the capability to charge LiPo, LiFe, NiMH, NiCd, Pb, the most common battery types as well as the new LiHV, high voltage lipoly packs, such as our new Bolt Series LiHV. Maximum output power is 7A, which means charging a 11.1V 2200mah takes a little over 20 minutes.

The easy to read and navigate touch screen display gives you excellent flexibility. Switching between screens is fast and easy to understand. Unlike cheaper chargers where you have to scroll through every menu to find the feature you need, the Neutron 80W user interface allows you to jump straight to the parameter you need right away. The molded plastic case has a specialized rubberized coating which looks great and adds to the durability of the product. Having the added flexibility to charge the high voltage lipoly packs allows you to unlock the maximum potential of those high performance packs. A integrated internal resistance checkers allows you to monitor the health of your batteries as they age. The Neutron will also store up to 8 programmable battery profiles to quickly load charge parameters for your most common packs.

The Neutron 80W charger features an integrated balance board, and removable input wires which cleans up your charging situation and makes it easier to store.

The Neutron 80W charger is the one you need for your high performance charging needs.

If the screen needs calibrating . .that is if you need to touch it the wrong place to activate it, go down to the second main screen - the one with NiCd and Pb on it. Touch and hold in the blank area below NiCd and Pb. Three little " " signs will appear in the top of the screen. When these appear disconnect the supply to the charger. When the supply is reconnected, a " " sign will appear at the top of a blank screen. Touch this sign and it will reappear on the right of the blank screen. Touch this and it will go away and reappear on the bottom .Touch this and you will have calibrated your screen . . .!!

Nice little charger. I do have 2 minor issues with it, but it's dirt cheap and it works great for the price, so I went ahead and gave it 5 stars. My issues are that it's really slow to balance, even slower than my 4 year old IMax B6. The other issue is that the alarm is barely audible. I mean to the point that you could be sitting in the same room with no TV or anything on and still miss it. Other than that though, it's a great cheap option to get the most out of your HV batteries, and it works great for standard lipos as well.

For the price it has a lot of functionality and it does perform well. The worst thing about this charger is the fan. It is LOUD and it is on constantly when discharging but only every now and the when charging. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and the fan is already failing.

I bought two and overall I am very happy with how they work. It is easier to select type of battery (LiPo/LiFe/LiHV/etc) and settings than some simpler chargers, and they generally seem to work well and efficiently.

One thing that really bothers me though is that the power input uses a *female* XT60 (which I didn't realize until I received them). This means that the power supply needs a *male* connector to supply power which is not a good idea. Someone could accidentally connected a battery directly to the power supply instead of the charger and this could lead to fires and serious damage and injuries.

I opened my chargers up and replaced the female connectors with male ones, which was a bit tricky, but I got it working. The inside construction mostly looked good to my eye. The heatsink mounting didn't look very impressive, but so far nothing has burned up, and they are very affordable units, so I can't really complain.

The touch screen makes the charger very simple to operate. I have only used it for a couple of weeks, but it has performed flawlessly so far. I have charged quite a few different batteries (NiMHs, LiPos and LiFes), and it works equally well with all of them. Compared to my Thunder B6 charger, the CV stage of charging lithium batteries takes a much shorter time with this charger. The only negative I would like to point out is that the case could have been slightly stiffer (a couple of times the fan blades have made a rattling sound as if touching something while spinning).
