That bushing collar, on the back-end, with the set-screws, is the bane of this motor, in my opinion. It interferes with the E-Flight EFLM1915 outrunner stick-mount. I tried to compensate, using Hobby King 10mm stand-offs, but the bushing interferes with these also. Why couldn't the motor's designers have used a snap-ring retainer, on the axle, instead of a bulky bushing???

I have ordered more than 40 of these motors, and the initial quality of these were very good. out of 10, 9 ran nice an smooth. Now compared that to my last order in which only 2 out of 10 ran nice and smooth. The remaining 8 had some really bad resonance at certain speed or the motor shaft was actual robbing against the base. In short Hobbyking really need to do something about the build quality of these motors.

This seems to be a fairly high quality motor. It ships with a Xmount and prop adapter. The mount uses two different size screws (supplied) so pay attention. I used 3.5mm bullet connectors.

The plane is a 580g ready to fly scratch built foamy with a semi symmetrical wing, a 1300mAhr 20C 3cell battery, 25A ESC. The prop was 10x4.5 turnigy slow fly prop, product# 9329000026. The motor seemed to develop massive torque spinning the prop with ease. The first flight I landed after 10 minutes of putting around the sky to check everything out. The motor was cool with no problems with mounting or anything else. I swapped the battery with another identical 3 cell and sent her back up, but this time to flog the new motor and plane.

The second flight: Vertical climb was 3/4 throttle, full throttle was a bit too much for the air frame but more than enough to power out of trouble. The motor spun up with authority and had no problems hauling this rigid plane around the sky. I abused the plane and motor for 15 minutes, brought it in for several touch and go landings, heavy on the power back up. I brought it back in at 20 minutes, the ESC hadn't even limited power from the battery!! The motor was slightly warmer but only about 110F.

This is a very efficient motor on my plane with a 10x4.5 prop. I'm considering the purchase of several more. Time will tell quality, but for now I would highly re

Used this to upgrade my hobbyzone super cub to brushless. I absolutely love it. Made the super cub much smoother and more stable. A little faster but mostly helps the plane perform slow loops and hold inverted flight much much better. Very inexpensive way to make your super cub a lot more fun.

Excellent motors. Feel very well made. No weird sounding bearings. Just keep in mind that you'll have to make the center hole of the motor mounts of the HK X525 V3 frame bigger to fit the shaft collar. Other than that they're great with 10x4.5 props!
