Great product and well priced

Jan 26, 2019

The ESC arrived well packaged. Once I installed the ESC it was very easy to set it up in my Baja. Within a few minutes of following the well laid out instructions my car was up and running. My only complaint is not about the product but about having to get this product from the USA. It said free shipping and when the ESC arrived 8 days later there were no upfront charges. However a month later Fedex sent me a bill for almost $50.00 for shipping. HobbyKing products shipped from Hong Kong to China are excellent as is the shipping. Anything from the USA to Canada you will be gouged big time by Fedex. If you live in Canada only buy the excellent HobbyKing products from Hong Kong. Highly recommend this ESC.

Perfect ESC. Good Price

Using in an Electric longboard with Turnigy Aerodrive 6374 192KV motor, plenty of power on 8S and the ESC doesn't even show the slightest hint of heating up. Good startup torque, no cogging, and awesome brake.

I definitely recommend this fantastic ESC!!

This is my custom E-maxx based 1/5th scale short course truck. It's paired with the Redcat 980kv motor. I've run 4S, 5S, and 8S with this setup and it has been a great ESC. I've only run it about 5 times, but ESC has yet to get warn (including when I forgot to plug in the fans, lol). I'm posting now because so many people are having issues initially that I wanted to share my good experience. Strangely enough, the "other" 1/5th scale controllers have their horror stories too, but some still recommend them...oh well. I plan on picking up 2 more (1/5th scale E-maxx based monster truck and for my converted Redcat Dunerunner).

wow got my second esc and had trouble again, little puff of smoke, did not even get to program,or check for correct rotation of motor, ended up disassembling esc and found two areas that were burnt, looks like I have to put back my vorza 6 cell esc and stay with that till I can afford something different,i doubt hobbyking will take this back after I took esc apart.

I give this contrivance full points on all accounts. First, it uses components matching truthfully to its advertised voltage rating. Second, its sensorless startup and running algorithm is much more intelligent than the average air controller. It can detect cogging and pole-slippage and will automatically try to open-loop run the motor at lower and lower rotational frequencies, until it pulls in. From there, startup is rapid.

It's designed for 1/5 scale R/C cars, but starting at roughly 1/4 scale and down, you might as well just ride it yourself! See Youtube: /watch?v=ydWABtLXjlo To do this properly, your sensorless drivetrain needs a very high (typically 15 or 20:1 and up) gear ratio. The startup performance is virtually flawless and the power available from this setup with a Aquastar T20 motor on 8S exceeds 4000W in a ground application....which is a huge deal.
