First Impressions on my Traxxas Slash 2WD - awsome !
I hardly recommend the Porgramming Box to change at first the acceleration from Low to Medium. The Difference between the XL5 and the brushed Titan to this Brushless Kit is big. I run on gearing 23/86. The ESC stays cool, the Motor gets a little hot (Finger Test). I will try a 19/86 gearing to cool down the Motor a little. I drive on 2s Lipo. On the website they say 2 Cell only. On the Package Specs stands 2-3s. I don`t know if i should try a 3s Lipo. But anyway, the power with 2s is enough for the slash in my opinion. The future will show how the Motor and ESC will make it on Sand and water. The only thing i miss is to change the LVC from the standard 3,2 to the 3,5V setting which i would chose for a saver action with my LiPo Cells. The Programm Box do not have the LVC Setting to change. On Day two with this Set i am highly satisfied.

At first I wasn't too impressed. Accelleration was slow, with a weird power-jump in the middle rpm-ranges, so it ended-up in my box'o parts.

But, then I got the programming card and discovered that about every power-related setting, timing, initial accelleration etc. was set at "low". Weird choice to hamper a pretty good ESC like that. And without the programming card NONE of the settings can be changed.

Value gets one crown less for that idiocy, or marketing-ploy. Not sure what the thought was at Turnigy.

After setting-up the ESC with high accelleration and about 10 degrees of timing, it was a world of difference.

The torque is gear-shattering. It ate my idler gear in no-time short. The 4-poles really shine in a monstertruck. I even tried it -for laughs- in a TXT-2 -originally a 2-motor truck- with a 13t pinion. Whhooboy.. I never saw a Tami TXT move this quick.....Wheelies galore, slipping and sliding and throwing up clouds of sand.....and consequently it wrecked the pot-metal gears in the axles. Impressive.

It's a shame that it needs a programming-card that is Out of Stock very often, but with that card, it's quite the impressive bit of kit for heavier RC Cars and Trucks.

Conclusion:

It is very powerful, has torque galore, and is -indeed- waterproof, but it NEEDS the programming card to get the best out of it.

Perfect power system for a buggy. I'm using this on my Tamiya TT-02B and it has just enough power and speed to make it still controllable. I tried the 4250KV and it was completely out of control and made it un-enjoyable. Becareful with the speed, it makes crashes very damaging so I would recommend an open parking lot. I've broken quite a lot of things including the tub because of how fast this thing makes my buggy.

Excellent combo!!!
Coloquei no Traxxas Bandit VXL, achei muito melhor que o original da Traxxas, nada de cogings nas partidas.
Partida suave e sempre estveis.
O meu combo ja esta com 11 meses e 100pcnt.

Picked this up for a brushed stampede 4x4 as a brushless upgrade. Using the stock brushed gearing the system is slightly faster than the titan 12 turn but does not get near as hot as quick. Only major complaint is there is not a listed program card for this unit. The beep\blink program is difficult to set and the unit seems to ship with punch control turned on as it very plush on take off. Once i figure out which program card works with this I think it will turn out to be a very good value.
