Good ESC, easy (but tedious) programming

Oct 18, 2017

I'm reasonably happy with this ESC, but it has a few drawbacks. First, they are serious about the 55 amp rating. If your power setup is even close to 55amp, I'd recommend a bigger ESC. I have a pylon racer setup for EF1 rules, which used about 62 amps max. I thought this ESC would work great, since I don't really fly it full throttle most of the time (I don't actually race it). NOPE! Even under partial throttle, the ESC got hot enough to melt the decal off, and it eventually shut down, without ever going full throttle. If you're over 50 amps, get a different ESC.
Programming options are pretty good, but the menu system is tedious. Thank goodness you should only have to do it once. Changing a parameter, especially one near the end of the menu system, requires you listen to 5 minutes of beeps and tones before you get to your desired menu option.
Other than those complaints, the ESC operates well, and provides good throttle resolution. The price is decent, and it seems reliable after several flights....just don't get near the 55 amp rating.

I don't buy this ESC anymore. After Timing Problems with the SK3 2836 2500kv, I tried Timing medium and as well high, I switched to the 60A Plush ESC. It is working very well. Unfortunately 22 for nothing.

Purchased about a week ago. I bought 2 for a twin 70mm jet. Soldered my connectors on and guess what, they didnt work. over half throttle they started to surge, making the plane impossible to fly. Cant return because "I voided the warranty" by putting my connectors on... But how am i going to find out if they work or not when they have no connectors installed? very unhappy.
