Description

The Voltigeur is a well-known performer and we've just taken it to the next level. Flying the Voltigeur is a dream, using the recommended 3S Lipo battery for aerobatics and sports flying it handles like a trainer, docile and extremely predictable, But it morphs into a 3D beast with that very same 3s battery. Everything from rolling circles, waterfalls, inverted harriers and blenders, nothing will stop the Voltigeur.

We have improved the motor design to provide more power (1900g thrust), better efficiency and cooler running (5% lower temp). To help with the extremes of 3D flying the servo arms have been beefed up and the landing gear has been improved with carbon fiber legs. No more applying stickers as they are factory fitted too. There is even a bigger, better ESC access hole for more airflow.

The Voltigeur is a true aerobatic performer and extreme 3D flying machine. Construction is from lightweight EPO foam and features large control surfaces coupled with masses of power. Perfectly balanced with a mid-mounted full symmetrical wing, large battery compartment, composite glass fiber wing tube, metal gear high-speed servos all round and all electronics pre-installed. Orientation is not a problem with the highly visible and unique color scheme.

Features:
• EPO foam lightweight construction
• Large control surfaces for extreme 3D flying
• New powerful motor package for 1900g of thrust on 3S 11.1V (34A), 13x6.5, 9% increase
• High-speed metal gear servos
• Ball link control horns
• Better servo horns to handle all the 3D stress
• Large easy to access battery hatch
• Composite glass fiber wing tube
• Carbon Fiber undercarriage with lightweight wheels
• High strength nylon wing bolts
• Highly visible and unique combination decals (factory fitted)
• Scale pilot figure

I bought this plane for sport flying (not into the 3D). I have dialled down the throws on all surfaces with a little expo (40%) elevator & Ailerons, rudder nil expo, full throw. I have changed the ESC to an 80A and running a flightmax 4S 2800 mah... Put slightly larger wheels and got rid of the wheel covers (better on grass strip). I have swapped out the prop for a lighter carbon fibre (less pitch). What can I say, it is now a fast sport flyer... On 3S it seemed a little under powered to me.. Nice simple & stable sport plane now.

Bought the mk1, maidened it last week on 4s, it flew fantastic. ... for about a minute and a half, then ESC blew up, and down it went! Had to buy the mk2 , after reading other reviews, i think i should get a better esc before maiden, i don't want to loose another one.. a bit of a shame, landing gear seems to be way better than mk1,
I guess that explains why the mk1 can't be found anymore.
Apart from that assembly is easy and quality isn't bad.

I assembled the Voltigeur and i am a bit dissapointed. The build/alignment of the rudder sucks. i hope i can trim this right.
All else is ok-ish for the money. For this kinda bucks u cant expect a plane a la Extremeflight or Precision aerobatics.
Running a 14x6 wood prop 45A and 470W, AUW 1420 gram will be enough i reckon.
The CofG is a pain, i need some weights in front i reckon.
As soon as the wind is gone im gonna maiden.
Dont expect to much, you get what u pay for. For learning 3D, fine plane i reckon, for more experienced? Spend a little more on a balsa build EF or same.

its a very good plane for the money. The quality is very good and easy to assemble.Mine has a faulty esc, but hobbyking after sales service is very good.Next day they send me another new esc .I think with a 4s and a 80a esc is a monster. In my opinion 4s with a 60a esc and a 12x6 prop you will love this plane.Put a 3s and all stock and you have a good plane and a smile in your face.Good work hobbyking

I bought this airplane over the thanksgiving holiday, and have about 20 flights on it. Only thing not stock is the carbon fiber prop. On 3s 2200 mah, it is a very capable 3d machine. Power is decent, and will pull out of a hover at about 3/4 power. it does everything i ask it to, torque rolls, rolling harriers, blenders, knife edge spins, pop tops. and it locks into a harrier as good if not better than just about anything ive flown. for inverted harrier, there is some wing rock, but i find if you flip into it, it stalls fast enough to get stable quickly. on 4s, its a rocketship. blenders and pop tops look like a blur. ill upload a flight video soon but hobbyking really got it right with this one. it honestly flys comparable to a well equipped 104" 3dhs slick.

I've had this for a month or so now and for the price its a great 3d plane for the price. CG is essential to get it right if you want to hover properly and I ended up having to add some decent weight forward to achieve proper CG. I've set it to my flying style with plenty of expo for 3D and 40% travel on the ailerons only, rudder and elevator around 85%.
Its had about 30 flights and the ESC has died, fortunately it failed while on the ground which saved me some possible grief. I changed it out and all is good again. but beware of the ESC.
All in all a good plane for the $$

I picked this up with the hope to have a smaller practice machine that could do everything that my big gasses. It took 1 hour to build and setup. The first flight was with a 4s 2200 and man does this thing perform. Tumbles, spins, blenders are a breeze. Knife edge is on rails and the tracking is spot on. The servos center well and the motor really delivers. Best part is it slows WAY DOWN in high alpha with rock solid attitude. Rolling Harriers are easy and the slow response is there thanks from the extra large flying surfaces. Bottom line for under 200 bucks on to your door there is nothing better!

Got this one out of the box and am really pleased with its material and construction quality , all it needed was a few minor points of attention to the applied decals with a covering iron and hey presto one good looking plane .
The foam density and exterior smooth finish is very good and assembly is also very easy , when the UK weather improves I will begin test flights with it and update this report .
