After the build which I followed the instructions found on the internet. Bulid quite straight forward, just had little trouble with wing spar too tight on one wing. maiden yesterday, handled well, no bad habits and with plush 60 esc, sk3 3548 700kv motor, pac 14x7, zippy 3000mah 40c. It flew vertical easily, knife edged well, snap roll and would still float in with very little power for easy landing. I only mod strengthened u/c area. would recommend. As described in listing. Love this plane. 1 star less for quality for u/c. This after 7 flights.

I've received my Votec, double packed without worth mentioning damages from the EU warehouse.
It is a very well build and suerbly covered balsa model. High end hardware added.
The second thing I've noticed, and that is a very big disadvantage, is that there's no manual available.
Also the subscribtion on the site mentiones 4 servo's but actually 5 are needed (there's a split elevator).

I got my votec today, And the finish on it is incredible, I am still yet to fly it
but i have no doubt that it will fly as good as it looks.
The G46- 670kv motor i am running in it seems to fit in perfectly and with a
15x7 i am hoping it will fly 3d.
I strongly recommend this plane for anyone who is into 3d or sport flying.

WOW that is all I should say. My Votec came today and I got it straight out of the box. (YES we should always check for damage straight away). I just want to start building mine. (By the way ZERO damage, very well double boxed). Yes no instructions but I knew that before I order, form reading the first review. I (before I bought) found a sweet colour manual under the FILES tab above. (It showed some very nice coloured pictures, so I knew just what I was buying, THANKYOU HobbyKing). I did think the wing halves were a bit short, measuring at 600mm each (1200mm in total), but once I saw the fabulous body (which was about 197mm wide) I was very happy. (Body 197 plus 2wing halves 1200mm = 1397mm.) It is just the right size. It is laid out in my spare room, to get it all ready for build. As I said WOW! (More to come)

So I tried to post the review but I could not. (I was still a Standard User, now Gold User so I can post and add). So now it is a few days later. I have started to build. It is all going to well. I cannot wait to fly. Reading the listing forum, I am a bit confused on the motor set up. So if anyone reading this can you help, if you know. The listing says one motor but the users say another!!!

Was turned on to this site from a freind and this kit looked like a great deal. Read the reviews and noted very few negetives, so I ordered one up. After three weeks it finally got here and upone inital inspection the nose cowling was crushed (one of the few negatives in the reviews)! Then I noticed the motor (Turnigy 4258-800)...this being my first interaction with HK I just added it to the cart, along with the sugested servos. The 4258 will not fit this kit (at least not without a mount adapter that is not mentioned and would probably weight 1/2 a pound!), and I'm not optimistic on the servo's working in all the mounts. So take it from someone that was too trusting, the convinent tabs for ESC, MOTOR, BATTERY, SERVO, PARTS/ACC., do your own research, these tabs will just put you into another three week wait.

No instructions make the Votec a challenge to put together. The separate elevators are also a challenge to get working properly. Otherwise a fun model that looks great and flies straigh and true. The envy of the Club!

Just received my kit. It really is every bit as good as it looks in the pics. Amazing quality and fittings for the price. I have noticed that there is no downthrust incorperated into the firewall. Does anyone know if this is required?

ok took about 20 flights this weekend - no issues, the plane is very well behaved and predictable with no bad habits so far. with my set up it hovers at half throttle and pull out is very good. landings are very easy it practicly glides down, takeoffs are 2 feet if you want. this is an excellent sport flyer and mild 3d (which is how i mostly fly). rudder stands up fine but i didnt try any knife edge loops or things that would load it too much, regular knife edge was at half throttle with 45deg deflection. over all i love the plane and will buy another if goes on sale again.

thx

-tom

ps - ntm 4248 spat out one magnet on 10th flight, i reglued then all with extra strength ca, 10 more flights all is good so far.
