XY 26cc A-Spec Gas engine

The 26cc A-spec differs from the C-Spec and with most other gas plane engines because of its highly refined head design and casting. The cylinder head of the A-Spec is cast using an extremely accurate process which results in a lighter head with the same cooling efficiency as larger thicker cylender heads.

The V2 engine has an improved big-end, reducing any chance of a bent shaft or balance issue.

XY engines come with a CNC milled crank case and a Walbro (Japanese) carburettor as well as a 2yr warranty on the electronic ignition parts & 12 months on all mechanical parts.

Specifications.
Weight: 980g (without muffler)
Capacity: 25.4cc
Bore/Stroke: 34 x 28mm
Spark Plug: NGK-BPMR6F
Carburettor: Walbro
RPM: 1500 - 10,000
Power: 1.5kw @ 10,000rpm
Suggested prop: 18*6~10 / 16*8~12
Oil ratio: 25-40 : 1 (Octane of 93 or higher)
CDI Voltage: 6.8v MAX (6v is best)

This is not a modified scooter motor. It has been designed purely for R/C large scale aircraft. Unlike most other gas plane engines built in the region, this motor was designed, milled, lathed, forged, cast, tested and assembled with the single goal of providing the best power to weight ratio, needed for big scale R/C planes.

Put mine in 72" cap232 really runs well but I notice a slight run out on crankshaft, is this the half moon key too high? tried to remove prop driver to investigate but my puller baulked at the job, seemed to be locktited on?

CAn anyone advise how best to remove it?

Have owned this engine for just about a year now and it gets stringer each flight. Using synthetic oil ata 60:1 ratio with an APC 16x8 prop on my Seagull 90 sized Yak 54. Unlimited power. One minor drawback, choke plate spring wore out. had two deadstick landing before diagnosing the problem. Since I don't use a choke servo I just removed the choke plate and now choke engine with thumb over carb opening. Would buy another in a second. Good value

Well I have carefully read ALL the reviews for the four (4) 26CC Gas engines offered by HC.

It is an absolute Lottery to buy one of these units. There are many, many complaints of bent shafts, loose wires, cdi failing or not working at all upon arrival, Bad sensors and sensor brackets breaking.

I have been a prolific buyer and loyal customer of HC for years but I will have to buy my 26CC or 50CC gasers from another source. Too many problems

I installed this engine on a KMP (ESM) Hawker Hurricane using a 15x8 three bladed Graupner

prop. It pulled my 19 pound Hawker through all the scale maneuvers that I would ever want to do. Such as loops, rolls, spit-s and a snap roll for good measure. This was done at a field that is over 4,000 feet above sea level. It's never given me a bit of trouble. I'm impressed with this engine and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Motor com acabamento muito bom, demora umas duas horas voando para ficar bem afinado de quatro coroas porque com 6 voos soltaram 2 fios do conector da ignio e o motor falhou.Cortei os conectores e emendei. Audye

I had some problems getting this XYZ 26cc A-Spec to start but once I figured out the pulse hole to the carb was pluged it started right up with my electric start. I am getting 7200RPM with a Turnigt 17x8 prop and 7300RPM with a MAS 16x8 3 blade prop. I am running 89 octane fuel at 30 to 1 right now. This would have been a full 5 star engine if I had not had the starting problems. I will buy another XYZ 26 A-Spec if I ever need another 26cc.

This is a very good running 26cc engine. I did have some trouble getting it started and once I figured out the pulse hole on the carb mainfold was covered it started very easy. I first choke the engine then turn on the ignition and flip the prop until I get a pop. I then open the choke and she starts within 1 or 2 flips. I am using a Turnigy 17x8 wood prop and I am getting 6700RPM with only 2 liters(1/2 gallon) of fuel at 30 to 1
