The Hobbyking YAK54 is an impressive 3D platform that you will enjoy flying. With a wingspan of 1500mm  and an area of 43dm2, it's a huge 3D Foamie that is sure to impress!
 
The YAK54 includes many quality details such as panel lines and rivets, cockpit & pilot.
 
The main wing includes a large carbon spar, and bolts together tightly while being easy to remove for transportation. The tail slots together in 3 pieces with two bolts and epoxy for a much needed extra strong hold. The cowl and engine detail are moulded in foam for durability.

A really well constructed EPO plane. Powered by a Modellhobby Joker 4250-6 840kv - Zippy 4S 4000 Lipo - APC Electric Prop 13x6,5 - YEP 80A ESC - TGY211DMH on elevator and ailerons - TGY210DMH on rudder...... I really like its flight charactristics and awsome design!!!!!! Too sad that you can only get it from Global Warehouse

sorry for my english , i just receive my yak and start buidl it ,then i discover a hole in tha tail and another one in the body of the plane ,afther few minutes i discovered that it can be used to renforce the body of the plane by a carbon tube .this hole goes from the tail till the wing ,and afther the wing till the fire mount ,but here, its already glued and closed so we can used it , but you can renforce the body by fill the hole with carbon tube .look very well the tail of the plane you will see it its about 7 or 8mm of diameter .so don't glue it quickly .and for me i will use a 4250 600kv but maybe a 4260 500kv will be better ,i have to try . i just tried with my 4250 kv600 prop 14x7 lipo 4s 4000mah and i just reach 570watt on 34A , which for me is not enough ,so i can conclude that we can use this for acrobatic fly but for 3d its necessary to have a lipo 5s to reach 700 or 800watt .So you can fly with the first combination and learn how you can do with your yak ,but after 10 to 20 fly you have to move to 5s for sure it will be the top , but never try smaller motor you will not have the power request for this plane .On 5s and 800watt we will stay on 38A , which is perfect .

After reading through the reviews below I decided to get this model. I built it with Hitec servos, a Turnigy 4240 motor and a 4S battery with 4,000 mAh. Well, it flies but not so well. The cg was way aft even with the large battery but more importantly, the gear is too far aft so it noses over when taxying even with full elevator up.
Had to tilt the gear forward and put quite a bit a lead on the motor bulkhead. Weight is in the range others mention, around 2.4 kg or 5.3 lbs. The canopy fit is very poor, large gap at the rear joint. They didn't even bother putting a magnet back there although the cavity for magnets is in the foam. Will see if my corrections make it fly any better.

this plane as a kit is great i bought it and put metal gear hitec servos in it and a 100amp esc with 5055 700kv turnigy air motor with 4cell 3300 40c its awsome with 16x8 apc prop i pull 1250 watts this thing will hover at under half throttle and dose about 70mph this plane was tested by a unamed pro 3d flyer at watts over owatonna it can take whatever you can throw at it but it needs tail weight to hover easier i cant seem to find a replacement cowl as i have damaged mine moving it out of my truck....any help? i dont want to buy a new plane for cowl...

Hoy lo he probado con varias configuraciones pero va perfecto con casi todas:

motor 4260 Kv750, variador 80A, helice 14x7 (serie) lipos:

2x 3s 2650mAh = tira como un demonio. Despega en 2m. sube vertical a menos del 50pcnt. 10 min. vuelo sport.
1x 4s 3700mAh = sigue subiendo vertical pero la bateria sufre un poco cuando aceleras fuerte unos 7 min. vuelo sport.
1x 5s 3700mAh = Casi tan bien como con las dos de 3s aguanta perfectamente y sube vertical al 50pcnt de acelerador. mas de 12 min. vuelo sport.

Recomiendo este tamao de motor pesa bastante y un centro de gravedad perfecto (puse en la bancada un suplemento para adelantar el motor unos 10 mm).

Todas estas pruebas han sido en las mismas condiciones con bastante viento y sin cambiar trim.

Este avion es de otro mundo. El mejor que he visto hasta ahora y su vuelo es noble y facil. Lo recomiendo
