The Zero was a shock to Allied fighter pilots when first encountered in the early days of the Pacific war, dominating the skys with it's speed, lightweight design and heavy armament. The Zero proved lethal in a dogfight until it was eventually overcome by superior new fighters and a change of tactics used by allied fighter pilots.

This great looking Parkfly model captures the spirit of the zero with it's scale outline and pre-applied matt paint. You will require a brushless bell motor around 1300kv for fighter like flight performance and 3 x 9g servos to handle the Zero like tight turns. You have the option of fixed under-carriage or hand launch.

Like most guanli kits, the finish of this frame is poor and the hard foam break easyly. But once in the air, it fly very well, able to very slow or high speed and very responsive. I like it a lot.
my setup; Emax motor 28-12 1534kv (Produit ID: FC2812) with stock 8x6 propeller, a turnigy 20a esc, 3 tg9e servos and a zippy compact 3s 1000 25c. I reinforced the motor hub with checkered tape for strenght during landing and fixed with velcro 2 old AA batteries in the nose to balance the plane.
This setup is cheap and good. the motor is powerfull and give a incredible climbing rate and top speed. The frame is very stable at slow and high speed, stall is preventive and aerobatics are very easy. I recommend to fly without wheels.
And at this price, you can buy 5 and play kamikaze on hobby boats :)

To set up the plane correctly you get a lot of good tips by looking up the GWS Zero, this plane is a gws clone.
I run it on 3 cell 1300 amp, 1400 kv outrunner and a 7x4 prop. You need a lot of ballast in the front to get the cg right and some downthrust, otherwise it will rise the nose like a balloon under power.
The foam is fragile and the landing gear to weak so you should do something about that.
But now my zero flies great, is easy to land and very stable even in slow speed.
For the money a very nice warbird but i don't recommended it for beginners

It`s cheap and nasty rubbish. I wasn`t expecting something great but it was a lot worse than i expected...too many fault`s to go on and on about it. Should be $45 including free freight and the warning that it will need a lot of work to correct faults, redo hinges, repaint after a lot of sanding, straighten major parts etc.....

The model is tail heavy and will give you a wild ride until you get the CG well forward. I use a 3s 1300mah battery set right forward, and added fishing sinkers until it balanced 6 cm from the leading edge. I use a 10" slow fly prop, and increased the area of the tailfin by 60pcnt with soft 5mm balsa. I fly the plane as ailerons only, no rudder. Total weight is 540 grams, but it glides quite well, no power needed for landings. The Zero is now a really sweet flier - this and the Hellcat are the best flying warbirds I have had so far.

its a shame there is no pnf version for this plane, i had to install a motor and have to do a lot of modification and i ruined it, but when you find the perfect motor and adjust it for a little down thrust it flies great! be carfull the tail is too havey

Fly's well, used an 1500 KV bell and the props delivered with the plane, on 2S lipo 2Ah and with the CG on exactly 6.5cm from leading edge, you need the wheight in the nose.
With the CG on 6cm from leading edge it fly's a little slugish.
Total flying wheight is 451 grams, set the elevator on 4mm up and 4mm down, trust me it is more than enough, roll and rudder as much as possible., about 1cm up and 1cm down, rudder 2cm to the right and also to the left 2cm.
Set the down trust on 2 dgr and the side trust on 3 dgr right.
It will fly very slowly without getting nervous.

First off, the Zero I received was very tail heavy. I needed to add about 150 grams of ballast to get the Center of Gravity (CoG) correct. Also, the elevator control design is very poor. The bar that connects the two elevators has too much slop leading to uneven elevator travels of the two surfaces. I pulled out the existing elevator rod and control horn and replaced it with two rods, one for each elevator (left and right) as well as clevis-type control horns. I used the recommended 1300 kV bell motor, an HK 20A ESC, and three Corona C-DS-929MG servos.

With the above stated equipment and modifications, this plane flies beautifully! Plenty of power and responsiveness. I set the aileron dual rates very low (40pcnt) for scale flying. Hammerheads and loops are a breeze. Love the sound of the motor, a kind of low-pitched drone - very realistic. The fuselage and wing are made of sturdy high density foam and should last many flights. I am very happy with my purchase, even if some unplanned work was needed.

You need to be a bit inovative to fit a brushless motor into this. I fitted a 2822 motor , 8x4 prop, and run 1000ma 3s battery. I had to add about 30 gram sinker into the engine cowl to balance, but it does fly very well, albeit not such a good glider, and needs to be landed pretty well under a bit of power. Very nicely finished model, and you can't go wrong for this price.

nice model, best value for the price. it flyes great whit correct setup. I use a 1100 kv outrunner brushless motor whit a 9x47 prop and a 20amp esc.

She climbs vert all time, lopps and roll very quickly, never underpowered. Use 1300 /1500 3s lipo and with 1300 lipo she flyes at full speed for 8 minutes, using medium gas power flyes almost 20 minutes. putted 30 gms on nose to have correct COG.

i'm very happty.

look a the video I did in video section.
