buy while you can

People, you are confusing antenna gain with amplitude gain. Forgetting weight and battery weight and antenna weight /size certainly I can certainly use this to transmit more than 5 miles. "going through solid objects" that's not what you really want, you really want distance beyond line of sight. This is one component to getting you there. this works in the 900 MHz, 1.2 GHz, and 1.3 GHz bands. So you have tons of choices of antennas and the size, type, design really matter. But you must accept that longer range is less omni-directional. "Satellite" and "Patch" antennas use focused beams of microwave signals to go super far but you better get an antenna tracker. On the flip side a standard dipole antenna works great for shorter range with no aiming required. This thing works with both the Amoway 900 band, and 1.2 band fatshark tx's in the 1.3 band. That's awesome for people like me using all 3. And you can't beat the price. But figure on spending at least $100 on antennas until you find that happy place beteen range and ease of use. 5 stars and I don't give that lightly.

i tried 100 mw 1 watt and 6 watt ..plane in my barn and i walked out back holding the vid setup with a crosshair antenna pointed at the barn walking through the pine trees i made it about 400 feet with 100 mw about 425 with 1 watt and 450 with 6 watt ....i am guessing with line of sight it would be a different story ..but i guess no matter how bright your flashlight it wont go through solid objects ...much like my video tx lol

I just got my booster. First I put on the antenna.! This is very very important !!!!!.
I have tested it with Lawmate 1W. on 1160MHz. I have messured RSSI on short range about 2 meters. This gave 80 rssi with the lawmate turned on, and the booster turned off. Then I turned the booster on and the rssi rised to 99rssi. The booster uses 3 amp about 50W on 16,6V.
The booster works just fine. Very good HK.
I will return with test results from long range later.
