I purchased 2 pairs of these Oleos to modify the main landing gear of my Calmato alpha 60 Sports with it. I realised that the the springs are very stiff and thought that the damping is much too hard for a 4kg model. So I removed both springs and cutted 2 windings off(about 5mm). It is important to fix the small m3 screw which holds the leg in the sliding gap with a little screw lock. If you do not do that, you will loose your leg sooner or later on the field - or much worse - during flight in the air. These Oleos look great but for now I cannot say how they will perform on my rough grass field. It is still too cold outside. I guess I write again after I amde a few starts, flights and landings with it.

A useful quality unit

These were the nearest legs I could find to fit the vintage retracts I am using to refurbish an ancient Hurricane. They appear strong enough to cope with my inevitable less than perfect landings.
