I love it. Excellent quality. Will be perfect for my Phil Noel 50" ME 262 at 2kg. Mine stars to compress at 1.6kg and more or less stays at that resistance.

Very nice but a little stiff

Overall I am very pleased this strut is well built and looks good. Only thing is the spring is very strong so strong that I think it will damage the model befor it actually gives any shock absorption. I took mine and cut a few coils off the spring to soften it up since I'm using it on a very light foam plane. Other then that it's a very nice product

Reasonably well made but botched design

It's a reasonably well made strut - certainly for the price. However, there seems to be a little design flaw with the geometry of the links, which leads to a characteristic that is not very useful.
The spring (my sample, I've only got one) starts compressing at about 1.8kg. At about half way travel it holds roughly 2.0kg. Towards the end, when the lever gets longer as the wheel moves more off center to the back, this decreases again to about 1.9kg.
It will probably work ok for very light planes. As mine isn't, I will have to find something better.
By the way: HK, this is the kind of data we would like to see in the product write-ups. Well, not exactly those numbers, as this product wouldn't exist if anyone had seen them.
