Art-tech falcon 3D CP RTF

Nov 14, 2007

Heli flies very well now (after partial rebuilding) with a mx-12 transmitter and R700 receiver.

1 star minus because of the bad RTF status - it would not fly out of the box - a newbie surely would have killed the rotorhead and damaged god knows what all :)

(Main blades unbalanced 0.17g off, paddles not centered on paddle bar, paddles not in one plane, paddle bar bent, rotorhead not setup straight, tail rotor pitch linkage from servo too tight, tail blades unbalanced 0.4g off, 0-pitch was off, motor mount screws too loose, tail servo pitch rod connector was in a position that allowed the gyro too much throw - resulting in a bending tail boom and excessive stress on the servo gears... etc.)

Motor gets a little too hot so I expect there will be troubles in the future, especially after upgrading the LiPo.

The Gyro setup is painful, I suggest unplugging the Channel5 wire, set it to HH mode by adjusting gain to nearly 100% and then sliding the tail servo to compensate spool up drift.

This worked for me, tail is solid now.

I have plenty of fun with the Falcon now , so if some hours of fiddling with it, buy it !!

You can buy spare parts in Germany from Robbe (spirit fun) or Carson (bluster400) ! They are identical to the Falcon (in V1, maybe things changed in V2 which is way better)

Regards, Christian.
