Hi Guys... I bought this plane to learn to fly twin engine (motors) and to do some of my special detailing work but straight out of the box, this is a good looking model. The colour is good, but its a gloss finish instead of matt, this was quickly fixed with a light coating of acrylic satin finish after applying the wing stripe's and numbers, I didn't apply the USAF roundels as I'm looking to make it RAF, or RAAF if I can get some Aussie decals. I didn't use the window stickers as they looked untidy when in place, luckily, I only applied one and could remove it without much damage, and I decieded to use a black marker pen to colour in the windows as well as using this to highlight the doors, hinges and handles, as well as the flap and tail trim sections. The matt coating blended everything in so nicely and some added detail to the undercarriage and underside of the wings finished off the detailing for now, lets get this thing flying before bothering to add anything else yet.... (thinking aerial wires, lights and flaps later). I wasnt happy with the engine cowling as one became loose during building, maybe looking at adding some small blocks of wood to the inside of the engine mounts and adding small screws to secure the cowlings, also maybe looking at making the props rotate in opposite directions (counter rotating), but will see how things go during the first few flights.....

Only 4 stars even though it is a dream to fly. Will not taxi The tail wheel needs to have its own servo. The stickers are for the bin the tail registration numbers are wrong size and wrong configuration the white in the stars is too transparent both the side numbers should be large The engine cowls are the wrong shape and the propellor bosses are to large Still good enough if you don't fly scale. The good news is it flys like a dream Even beginners should be able to enjoy this one

Seems good value for money though it is no FMS... Not sure what the supllied glue is meant for (sniffing why you build it...:-)) Used epoxy and foam safe cyano (my new fave glue). Id numbers that go on each side of the rudder are different which is kinda sad... Nacelles are attached with hot melt glue (snot) which i think is a bit sad as well.. Haven't flown it yet but it seems nice and light with plenty of power.. Should look good while flying with those D-Day stripes... No nut supplied for wing mounting bolt... Cut one of the reds from one of the ESC. Instructions supplied were for the DC-3 Dakota... No big hassle... Will update after maiden... Cheers

I received the c-47 on Monday. First impression, the packaging was perfect. A box, inside a box, inside a box, how could you go wrong. The foam itself is very strong and gives a little. Nothing missing or damaged, very pleased with that, instructions are of the Skybus not Skytrain. The only thing I did not like is the tail wheel, you have no control. Its like a woollies trolley with a busted wheel, you just don't know what direction it's going to throw you in. So I'll be putting a spring on it for me to have complete control of the plain. Apart from the tail wheel its all finished with decals and an arming switch. Maiden flight on friday, wind was about 10km's & less. No cross wind, not much sunlight left but not going to stop me. I had to add 40 grams up front as the cg is wrong, (CG IS 57mm not 60-65mm From leading edge). My battery is a 3s 2200mAh Billowy Power lipo, it weighs 166grams so I have a total of 206grams up front & is nose heavy, which is always good. Took off like a dream. 1/3 throttle, tail lifts softly, 1/2 throttle off the ground & flying like the real thing. Banks perfect no wing tip drop, flies very stable (in a slightly breezy atmosphere), have not yet tried it in any more wind as its been blowing about 40-50Km's out in Coota. landing was to easy thanks to the pitch of the motors being slightly down. 2 Wheels touch down then throttle cut to bring tail wheel

Maidened the C-47 today and what an absolute dream to fly. Throttle at 1/3 and she lifts gently off the runway - so scale. Looks great in the air and only a couple of clicks of left aileron and up elevator and she was flying true and level on half throttle.

Quite capable of rolls, loops and flying inverted - and lands so gently with a great glide line.

For those that want a great and easy flying model - can't recommend this one enough!

Well done HK!

The plane arrived yesterday & I had it assembled in about 3 hours. You will definitely need to set the throttle position as per the included ESC programming guide, or the motors will rev unevenly, preventing you from even taxiing the beast. I've tried a 2250mah 3S 25c Rhino and it wants to climb vertically out of my hand with a fair bit of force, so it's got heaps of grunt. Taxiing is pretty hairy with its full castering tailwheel, unless you're great at handling runaway shopping trolleys, you may want to change the tail wheel for a controlled version (easier to fit before the horizontal stab is fitted) Once the tail is up & flying, yaw control should be OK with the rudder. I guess the trick will be to point it down the runway & then go for max revs. The EPO finish isn't as good as they are capable of & one star roundel was missing. Could be a good FPV candidate as the fuselage is massive & the cockpit comes off to reveal a real expansive area for cameras etc. Will fly it tomorrow, weather permitting, and will report back. As a footnote, we're probably being shafted here a bit as the same plane at Grayson Hobby is selling for $149.00 US "WITH" the transmitter.

Hey Everyone, maiden today approx 25k winds gusting to 30, it leapt off the ground a flew like the reliable bird they were...

No trim adjustsments, loves to fly at 1/3 - 1/2 throttle, stall is docile with a drop of the nose

Landing was sweet again at just under 1/3 to help with the head wind.

Thank you Hobby King for suppling this bird.

Hi Folks, I didn't see it in the manuals, but it shows to connect the two ECS's to the one Y lead. You will need a BEC eliminator cable on one of the ESC's.... or cut the read lead. Also following the manual it shows to connect both ESC's the same to the motors, I found that I had to reverse the black and blue on one.

Wen't together well.. put the linkage stopper on the elevator horn before you glue the tail on.. make it easier.
