Should have started using more prop saver motors long ago. They really do work and will save you many a bent shaft/broken props buckled motors from the numerous nose dived landings your test flights will incur.

I have one running now since approx. 50 flights on a crack-yak with 2s 450mAh and 9x5 prop.
There is only one thing I want to mention negatively: sometimes on startup from zero the motor makes some strange noise like "zzzz" and does not really respond to throttle properly (but prop is turning, little jittering) for 1 or 2 seconds - afterwards no problem.

Despite of this, I never had any trouble in flight - thrust is great and way enough for this 200g 3d-foamie.
Throttle response is awesome (except the above mentioned), never had a motor like that!

Excellent little outrunner. It performances just as great as it looks. I use it with an 8x4 gws DD prop, 350-550mah 2S lipo batteries and an HK 12amp esc. Very quiet motor. It does however generate a lot of heat with any prop bigger than 8x4 on 2s. So I only recommend the 8x4. It requires a little over half throttle to hover on a fully charged 500mah 2s lipo, but enough for 3D.

Hi, I would have liked to say that these little motors are the best thing out but ... I purchased these for an octocopter (8 rotor heli). Running them on 3 cell 3300mAh battery, 5x3 3-blade propeller, and 10A turnigy plush esc's. Performance is good and they generate very little heat on this setup. Unfortunately one after the other they have failed (stopped working). Of the original 12 I bought (a couple of spares), I now have 7 that work. Do I buy more, or cut my losses and try something else, is the question I am faced with. As an aside, I found the shafts impossible to remove. I planned to replace the shafts with longer ones so I could use collet prop drivers, but destroyed one motor trying. Using the standard prop saver, the flat that the propeller seats onto is very narrow and it is difficult to get the propeller seated and running true. Overall not super excited

Small motor for 200 grams foamies and it consume less power since the battery use is around 500-600mah

Today I got a motor. High-quality done, without backlashs. Works very quietly. My motors weights 19,8gr. without 2mm connectors. Suitable props only GWS DD series.Tested motor with a prop GWS 8x4DD, Turnigy Nano-tech 2S 460mAh 25C and 12A BlueSeries ESC. And I got the following results: Uo=8,4V. Umin.=7,61V. Imax. = 9,34A. Pmax.=71,4W. 330gr. of thrust. Very pleased with this motor. Thrust is more than enough for 170gr. model. Will order 2 more pieces.

Best looking motors I have ever own. 9x5" prop fits directly on it, only problem is with GWS props, since hole is little smaller on props. It runs without problems on 3S lipo with 7x3,5" CW and CCW props for multicopters. I had them on my first quadcopter. For using on multicopters I advice you to change motors shafts for longer ones, so you can use prop adapters. My motors weights between 19,4 and 19,7g without 2mm connectors. Motors came only with male connectors, so yu have to buy 2mm female connectors for ESC-s
